Not a bad result we give them a crocked Woodgate for about £14million

Look who we get in return

Hee Hee It just goes to show what cr@p timing his decision to leave Madrid was... Imagine having to sign for a club you dont want to play for and that you know will provide zero meggils for the rest of your career just because no-one else wants you... I feel sorry for him... Just like shearer, another great striker gone to waste

Yep - Owen good for a goal a game.

Should mean you'll only lose by 2-1 or 3-1 .

Your problems are with your defence from what (limited) I've seen .

The problems aren't with the defence, you're jumping on the bandwagon just like everyone else....the problem we've had for almost a year now is that lack of goals and attacking options which would take the pressure off the defence.

I'm not jumping on the bandwagon - the last goal I saw scored against Newcastle had a bald black defender looking like he was playing for a pub team

We'll see if Owen solves your problems - but I suspect he wont

It's true, 2 bad mistakes were made in that game but the defence really has tightened up a hell of a lot...it's been our ability to put the ball in the back of the net which has been sadly lacking.

Agreed. Our defence is the best it's been in a long while. 2 schoolboy errors, for which Boumsong has held up his hands. Young Stevie Taylor is a solid defender who'll only get better.

The signing of Owen should see us get some goals, take a bit of pressure off Shearer and send Ameobi into the reserves to learn how to shoot.

Footballs easy to work out, score goals = get points, hopefully.

And that's my 2p worth.

I'm gutted,, would have loved to have had him back at anfield but not at the expense of cisse. I'm sure if we got rid of that donkey crouch he'd be immense for us again.

BBC Website seems to be suggesting it's maybe not all over just yet .

Mybe Owen just turning up the pressure on Liverpool at the expense of the Geordies ??

have to agree that he wanted to play for liverpool, and i was little disapointed in the way he conducted him self, in stating he wanted to go to liverpool, but at the same time, quite clever business of fat fred by pricing him out of liverpools way. what you can't get away from is he will score goals, and he will help big al score, and he has been lacking for some time now.i think this signing will help newcastle qualify for europe this season, thats how significant it is.

cracking signing

mike
