We were'nt robbed, we threw it away.
France are better than us, lets face it, but if you play disciplined containing football with the threat of a slick break, we have proved you can snuff them out. Playing the way we did in the 1st half proves that. In fact, given the players we have in midfield I would have thought we would have naturally buccaneered forward but to their credit we were very regimented.
2nd half was our downfall. Our threat of attack disappeared. Why we defended 10 -15 yards deeper I don't know. Having said that, in open play James only had to make saves from shots from distance, and although we were completely overran the French were having a bad day - they didn't create one golden oppertunity all game. Although we defended too deep, we defended very well - all players sticking to the task in hand - the big game players were performing. King has cemented his place for the rest of the tournament IMO, regardless of Terry's fitness.
<sigh> Heskey isn't international class going forward, nevermind that free kick he conceded. Its only natural to look for a scapegoat, Beckham's pen - Gerrard's back pass combined with James not being further from his line to start with. But having defended so well for 90mins without conceding one cheap, threatening free kick all game - to get it spoiled by a player who should never be in the squad, let alone on the pitch is a bitter pill to swallow.
However, all is not lost. I honestly believe the football we played in the 1st half is good enough to match any team in this tournament. If our midfield continue to play as a unit as well as they did in the opening 45 mins we do have a chance.

England looked the best they have done for 12 months!!
We were incharge of that game for 75 minutes, it was obvious France would equalise, a draw would be a fair result, it was just the French ****ers luck to steal the game, they didnt deserve it at all.
Roll on Thursday, COME ON ENGLAND !!!

all this over 22 boys kicking a pig skin around, falling over and making out they have broken a nail. Ankers all of them.
Over paid and never worth the time of day.
Played by un-educated plonkers (most of them, ok,, not all)
Spice boy........... how come everyone watching just had this idea he was going to go to the right,,,,,,, but spiceboy was to thick to think........ " my old team mate"
ever think about putting it in another way........... he's top of the field getting it correct in his relationship............alway sticking it in another way/another chick.
We should't take it out on the French,,,,,,, we all know who lost us the game, lets get them........

The reason everbody hates the English ...
Is because they invade countries, rape all the natural resources then give the country back to the Natives.
You think you hate them now - just wait til they've eaten all your fish, used up all your oil and stopped coming here on holiday .

I've had more non-football supporting people come up to me today and say 'Bonjour' than I've had hot dinners in the last year!
Everyone loves to have a pop at the English... especially our friends from across the borders and maybe we are hated by the whole of the world.... but that's old news.
Some of us (English that is) do take football a bit too seriously, but we're all just hungry for success and try our hardest to get behind the team. I'm still gutted the way the result went and it's all down to cr*p mistakes made by players that should know better.
Good luck to the boys on Thursday. Regardless of whatever the other members of this BBS think to my comments.... my flag is still flying high and proud.

Have to give Zidane... I mean France credit for punishing us with both mistakes we made, up to 91 mins though James didn't really have a save to make apart from a few straightforward longrange shots, I thought Henry was quiet overall and although they did have most of the possesion they were short on ideas and couldn't break our defence down, thought King had a great game aswell as Rooney, didn't even notice Owen was playing till he got subbed! Bottom line is we should have won, France were lucky we gifted them the 3pts.
