Should Haaland sue Keane?

And increase the sales of his new book
If he did mean it I cant condone it having had both the fibula and tibula snapped just above the ankle from a dodgy tackle, still i did get 3 months off work, but never played again

Definitely.
Keane's just an over-aggressive, over-hyped, over-paid thug, who can play a bit. He really doesn't appreciate what a privileged position he's in, and the extent to which he abuses this is pitiful.
The game doesn't need him, just like Rep of Ireland didn't...

Best 'challenge' I've ever seen that was. I was up there for that game and you could see it coming a mile off when Keano came steaming in. He didn't even wait for the ref to get his card out, he just steamed in and then started to walk off! Haaland did his best to provoke him in the days leading up to the game so he can't have any complaints!
Seriously though, if Haaland's foot was firmly on the floor of the leg Keano went in on, his career would have been finished, no question, his leg would have been snapped.
Personally I've always detested that Haaland so I quite enjoyed it.

I reckon no, the FA gave him a 3 game ban at the time so thats the end of it. You can't go changing the punishment over a year down the line.
I actually found it quite funny
Typical Keano. Wish some of our players had that aggression. Stevie Gerrard take note

But does anyone actually deserve lasting cruciate knee ligament damage from a pre-meditated challenge in a professional league?
Whether you like Haaland or not, surely there are better ways for a player to display aggression? I just think Keane's a yob, who sets no standard at all for youngsters to follow. Kick him out!

I dont want to be the 2nd person to correct your "theory" but
Haalands cruciate ligament damage is in his left knee an injury he sustained 3 weeks before the Keane tackle, the Keane tackle was on his Right leg, this is a "fact" (a term I use lightly, re the moon thread) the media/tabloids seem to be oblivious to.
As mentioned in my earlier post I dont condone what he did.

Dave, fair do's. Just ignore "cruciate knee ligament" from my post.
It was still reckless and unnecessary. Seems the FA have limited powers now, but Haaland could sue.

Agreed Telboy
Its a shame that players of Keanes ability have this red mist, he's not alone, Beckham (although much better now) Viera, Zidane (twice punching a member of the opposition in consecutive champs league matches last season) flawed geniuses, Cantona most famously, but he was just a nutter

I think what made me give up on Keane was when he stood about a *** paper's width away from a ref's nose and spoke, sorry shouted at him as if he was a piece of gob on his shoe.
No professional sportsman should be able to get away with that level of disrespect, imo.

Sorry but who's carrer was wrecked by Keane exactly? As far as I can make out, there was never any lasting damage from that 'challenge'. In fact, from what I can remember that 'challenge' did hardly any damage at all.....
As I've said before, if Haaland's foot was on the floor at the time, it would have been a very different story, but the fact remains that it wasn't.....

I would be very suprised if that tw@t Haaland tries to sue, as the comments he made on his own web page last year after that tackle confirm that he did not suffer any injury because of what Keane did. The press officer from city confirmed this but suprise, suprise the media have not published this - I wonder why that is?

SwinYE5,
I come up to you in the street and try to kick you in the kisser, miss and fall over. Some while later I give you a good hiding for having the audacity to move out of the way the first time, and that's OK is it? Get real man!
Stu.

Kipper,
I'm not saying that it was OK or justified just because of when Keane did his cruciate, there were many reasons why, I for one, didn't feel any sympathy for him when he was on the recieving end of that challenge. One that springs to mind was when he publicly called United scum on his website...

I think the key point is that loads of people have deliberately made reckless challenges. Keane has stood out by admitting it - some might say this is stupid others may say it is honest.
