What a bunch of idiots on here, saying England played cr4p yet still won.
They 'Only' did what was needed against Nigeria.
They 'Only' thrashed Germany because Germany didnt turn up!!
WHAT TOTAL ABSOLUTE BOLLOX!!!
England have done EXACTLY what they needed to do - or they wouldnt be where they are - now its probably Brazil ...... I suppose if we see them off, it will be a case of, 'Brazil played really bad and England were lucky'??? to some of the clowns on here who should be watching paint dry instead of footie.
Its a free thread but NOT when you slag off the National team!!
So, in the year of the Golden Jubilee and when the World Cup is there for the taking lets get behind England - the Team AND the Country - the streets are a friendlier place when we do well on the Footie Pitch.
This is a thread for those who have positive things to say!!!
Sign up below to shut them up!!

FACE IT YOU SQUEEZED YOUR WAY THERE
YOU SQUEEZED THROUGH THE GROUP
YOU HAVE AN AVERAGE TEAM NOT A GREAT TEAM
But bring on Brazil LESSON IS FAST APPROACHING
As for Scots running, the only time the Scots run is when we run the English all over London and that was why they stopped the Scotland England games as we made an **** of you all running around shouting CHASE ME CHASE ME
But when you tried to hide your little morris dancing bells gave you away,
National dress, well what is your's,
Morris dancers the lot of you bells and bobbles
COME ON IRELAND !!!!! DO IT FOR THE CELTS!!!!!!!

A list of facts:
England have not played entertaining football at any point during the finals. In fact they play like Scotland did under Craig Brown: safety first.
England do have a better football team than Scotland, by a long way. If only they would play football worth watching.
England could well win the whole tournament, and I'm not convinced Brazil will beat them. Brazil do have the better players, but they are entertainers and as such take risks, something England try not to do.
I can understand why lots of England supporters are happy; it is simply because their team is winning, they don't care how they win as long as they do, the same mentality as a majority of Italian fans, and many other fans the world over.
I personally prefer to watch a team that is there to play football, trying to win, but with flair. In Scotland we have had to put up with our team playing the sort of rubbish England are playing at the moment for many years. I know many people that were happy as long as we got a result, be it a goaless draw or a sneaked victory, but personally I can't stand it. I know I'm not alone, I remember watching us play Estonia (when I was at college) a few years ago, and by midway through the second half we were happily supporting the Estonians, simply beacause they were trying to play football. Around that time we also played Sweden and won 1-0, to this day I do not know how that happened as we did sod all that match and deserved to be well beaten, I really felt sorry for Sweden. I've always said I'd prefer to watch us get beaten 4-2 and play attractive football than scrape victories playing 10 men behind the ball.

Robertio, why are slagging off the 3 nil win,England played Brilliant football against Argentina last week and today we beat a well organised Danish team.
I dont know what you are hoping with Scotland in the future "new Brazil" NOT with a German as a manager and with the poor choice of players in Scotland at the mo,so why we have qualified for future WC's, youll be sitting a home cheering some country youve never heard of because you DONT want to support England.
Its so sad to see that you havent been able to remove that chip on your shoulder,it MUST be weighing you down.

No chips over here, I prefer fries
I'm not slagging off the result as it was a good result, but England did not play the sort of football I like watching, if every team played like that I'd move over to the US and watch sports where entertainers still exist.
As I put in my post I'd prefer to watch Scotland get beaten every game and play good football, I don't expect miracles, but I do hope they will play the game in the right manor. I've played enough football over the years to know that you don't have to be the worlds greatest players to play passing progressive football with a bit of skill. Even at college we had a halls of residence team of duffers yet still managed to have an entertaining 4-3 defeat to another poor side which involved a goal straight from a corner and a half volley from 10 yards inside our opponents half (hey, I can't help remembering my goals )
I admit that I support teams that play against England, not because I have any problems with the nation doing well, but because of the huge fuss the media make of it, and keep on making of it for many, many years there after. I will admit it when England deserve to win and will give them credit if they play well. Against Argentina they had the better chances and did deserve a victory, but how anyone can say they played good football I'm afraid is beyond me.
Is there any reason why I should support England, or any other nations just because Scotland are not there, or even if they were? My mum is American, so I could claim to have some reason for supporting them, but as far as I'm aware I have no reason to support any other nation.

Maybe you can answer me as to why you are supporting Ireland? France is about as close to England, yet I suspect you weren't supporting them? and Ireland is no more part of the United Kingdom than France, Germany or anywhere else is.
If Berti picks the correct team then we do have players capable of playing football, nothing like candidates for winning the world cup (although given this summers results anything is possible ) but certainly capable of playing well and qualifying:
Neil McCann
Paul Lambert
Barry Ferguson
Kevin McNaughton
Is not a bad midfield for starters.

I am pissed off! This thread has been put up because of some comments made by my other half.
I think that if you lot cannot have a reasoned argument about football, then you lot are a waste of space.
Look at what was posted before making judgements!

ClareBabes:- a few points you might care to note:-
The post referred to was posted at 2:31pm - barely had the True England supporters started dancing than someone posts a thread saying that England, and I quote, 'Played Crap'!!!!!!!!! England win 3-0 against good opposition, they rest themselves in the second half, and someone comes on here and slags them off.
Sorry, but thats WELL out of order!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Pete

Pete, are you saying England had not
against Denmark? I could have posted that at half time as it was equally true then, what difference does it make when he expressed his opinion of how England played?
They played professionally and won, but to say they played well when I'd be surprised if they even had 40% of possession during the match is a quite frankly a bit of a joke.
Craig, I have to admit to not being Winters biggest fan as I have lots of 'why the $%*& did he do that?' moments whenever I watch him play, but do agree his scoring record should at least put him in the squad, even if I would play Darren Mackie upfront with Hutchison in front of him.

As for Denmark being a good team where do you people thing up this ?
They too squeezed through by the skin of there teeth.
Admit it England are an average side what does it take to prove this to short sighted people. But hey it will be the usuall riots when they go out.
Bring on Brazil then the lesson will begin

PSLEWIS:
Dave did not say they played crap, it was a question!!!! For those of you who do not know when a question is being asked, this is what usually happens:
Statement - England played crap! or, England played crap.
Question - England played crap?
Notice the slight difference in the ways they are written? Do they not teach this in schools any more? (Those were both questions, I'm sure you have got the gist by now).
As to me ranting, not bloody surprised with some of the personal abuse that has been dished out.

Pete, have you actually read any of my posts? (note use of question mark - see Clare's post for explanation of)
It doesn't matter whether England beat Brazil or not, it is how they play against them. If they play attractive football then I'll give them credit, if they play the same dross they have been up until now I'll slag them off for it.
