Default Wigan v Saints

After Rangi Chase's shocking attack on Ropati and Flowers disgusting assault on Lance Hohaia tonight isn't it time Police were given powers to intervene in sport?

Hohaia could have died after that disgusting legal attack.

Emotions running high should not be a licence to break faces. Doesn't matter if you catch your mate banging your wife or someone pushes you in sport - assault is assault.

Agreed. However that punch wasn't legal and Flowers was sent off. Besides it isn't a Saints v Wigan derby without a bit of spice.

Sent off, that's deserving of a life time ban not for the first punch but the second one.

It was legal in the eyes of the British Legal system. Obviously against the game's rules though.

The real irony is I thought Hohaia should have been carded in the 1st minute.

If I'd been on the pitch, I'd have planted flower. #tosser #mongrel #wiganscum I'm here all week. Well in @Saints1890 #Champions2014

Bit harsh, if he comes back to England he might be having a bit of nightclub fun at some stage.

League tend to police their own. It'll be on report and the committee will mete out a suitable punishment. Barrie Mac made a career out of being a dirty b@stard, it gives games a little sizzle.

I once saw Barrie stamp hard trying to break Nat Wood's ankle right in front of the ref. Wakey didn't even get a penalty.

I'm a rugby league fan & believe it is a fantastic game, however even though the adrenaline was sky high one cannot condone this type of behaviour.

The poor guy could have received worse injuries than he did especially as he was totally helpless.

The correct decision was made & ultimately cost Wigan the game the moment he was sent off.

He was just a thug end of. He once went in with a swinging arm on Stuart Fielden, completely off the ball. Then whilst Bailey (another dirty c@nt) grabbed Fielden, Macdermott got a couple of cheap shots in.
The funny thing is Barrie waited for the other Macdermott (Brian) to retire before proclaiming himself the enforcer. Brian a former Royal Marine and amateur boxer had the measure of him.

Clip of Leeds players holding Fielden whilst he still manages to drop cowardly Barrie.

Barrie hits Fielden with a high shot then 2 uppercuts and Fielden drops him in 1.

been a huge saints fan for years, have to say hohaia provoked some retaliation but
what he got was far too excessive, as maz said its not tiddlywinks, derby games always have a, as stevo would say on sky sports, a "shamozal" but flower lost control and went too far

Taking the law into your own hands is what started it all, official's have to notice more and act stronger.
