Cool

Be warned they charge £10 to park in farmer Palmers field.
Hopefully I will be there and might even be able to arrange to park at someones house who backs on to one of the stages. Only £7.50 each

£10's nothing compared to what we paid on the NetworkQ, and that's for a car full and not each.....

Mark,
Yeah up for that, anyone else care to meet up for the start. Need to be early though cos it gets difficult to see, I think somewhere near the pier is good, they come through the gardens and have a twisty bit at the end, probably where that crash was last year that stop the event for a few hours...
Parking is an ar$e but I know of a couple of places with car parks we can use.

Pier is ok, big crowds though. It's pretty good right at the starting gate which also gives you the chance to get a close look at the cars. This was by the NCP car park next to Edwards Pub last year and the crash was only about 100m in to the stage, by the pavillion. If you want high speed action then try to get down onto the beach and watch 'em fly up the promenade.

HAVE BEEN TO THE SUNSEEKER FOR THE LAST 4 YEARS. WATCHING AT THE GARDENS AND PIER IS OK - BUT REALLY TIGHT FOR THE FIRST BIT - GOOD FOR SEEING THE CARS AND GETTING CLOSE UP PICCIES, BUT NOT THE TRUE RALLY ENVIROMENT. THESE CARS ARE BEST SEEN IN THE FOREST - OFTEN FLAT OUT IN TOP ON A GRAVEL TRACK AT 100MPH + SNAKEING FROM SIDE TO SIDE AS THEY BRAKE FOR THE NEXT HAIRPIN. MY ADVICE IS TO HEAD FOR THE STAGE IN VERWOOD FOREST - FROM MEMORY CALLED MOUNT ARARAT OR SOMETHING. THE TOP TEN BOYS ARE REALLY WORTH A LOOK - THEY MAKE THE HAIRS ON YOUR NECK STAND OUT. ANOTHER GOOD VENUE IS THE TWO RIVERSMEET LIESURE CENTRE AT CHRISTCHURCH WHERE THEY DO THE SCRUTINEERING ON THE FRI AFTERNOON. HERE YOU CAN MINGLE WITH THE CREWS AS THEY MAKE LAST MINUTE ADJUSTMENTS TO THE CARS AND MAKE THEIR TYRE CHOICES - A GOOD OPPORTUNITY TO GET SOME CLOSE UP PICS.

Probably going straight into the forest, as the seafront stage may end up being a bit crowded and restrictive. My experiences of similar RAC stages at Blenheim and Cardif were disapointing compared to the forest stages.

The forest stages allow u to move around as u like, and don't tend to have the crowds...

What's the traffic situation normally like ?

Is it anywhere near as bad as the Network Q ?

We will be driving down from Hastings on Saturday with the aim to get on stage by 0830 (2 Scoobs + Volvo T4)

Scott, are you looking to get to the gardens before 8.30?
If so, you should be OK. Last year it wasn't too bad. Getting out of Bmouth around noon was a problem though IIRC.

Could recommend parking in Westbourne area/top end of the gardens and walking down.

We were aiming to get to the Forest stage by 0830.

I've got a copy of the above stage listing and shall be looking at my ordnance survey map tonight to find the best approach and adgenda.

We will have the £22 roving pass, so hope to move about a bit.

If u spot us give us a shout we shall be in a convoy of 1 Green MY94 (Gold 17's), 1 Reddish Blue MY98 (Gold 17's) and 1 Silver Volvo V40 T4.

Guy's,

When u say gardens, do u mean the St.leonards and Matcham stages.

It looks like woods on my ordnance survey map, but I spose they could be gardens ?

Excuse my ignorance, but I don't know the area......

Scott, I think you'll find that they meen the Pavillion gardens where the rally starts and finishes. This is located on the seafront, right oposite the pier.
