I am well aware that your WRX is in standard tune at the moment
but if you were to do any mods I am sure you would do the earth mod...
I am thinking of the same and so would appreciate any help you can offer.
parts list..?
Time taken...?
How do you disconnect the battery without the alarm going off...?
cheers for your help

Cool

Well I'am here at last! Peanuts you have reminded me that the earthing mod is one of the few that I have undertaken! and although Paul helped out with the materials ( he's a sparks by trade ) and a bit of advice I actually did this mod myself! easy to do if you've got the cable, ends and crimpers and I did not have any problems with the alarm going off as there is no need to disconnect the battery as all your doing is "adding" extra earths to the earth side of the battery (clamp bolt). Give Paul an e-mail as Jen suggests and he may be able to help with the materials, he had originally organised a "earthing party" for the Hants mob but only I turned up!

Cheers,
Len.

Just to add that it only took me about 3/4 hour to add about six cables so for someone skilled maybe 10 mins!!

Ok,parts list acquired
Just a question for you Len,
did you link all the wires in series and then make a single connection to the battery, or did you make indivdual earths each one connecting to the battery?
And where did you make connections?
Im thinking about, ECU, alternator, struts etc?

Jamie, getting the parts from Maplin, bout £13 all in
Hows about saturday morning for Lambda?

Wink

Peanuts,

Individual wires from the battery are best,I put one to each strut tower, one to the engine near cam cover (battery side),one to the inlet manifold, one to the body earth point behind headlight (battery side) and one to ECU.

Andy,

I can see that if I'm not careful I'm going to get left behind in this "modding" game!
