Right - I assume from the good reaction we had to Jongleurs (and I'm taking all the others for silence to mean that's ok ), I've looked into this as our destination for our "Christmas Do" (trying hard not to make a stupid joke about a Christmas "scooby"-do in this thread ).

So far all the dates are available (?!) but we'll have to move reasonably quickly to secure a booking for a largish group...

I need three things:

1) a vote on the day's, we have the following options:
Friday 6th (£25), Sat 7th (£19.95), Fri 13th (£25), Sat 14th (19.95), Fri 20st (£25), Sat 21st (£19.95)

Can you let me know which one's you cannot do as well as if you have a preference, then we should be able to wittle them down

2) Food?
a) At the club: £10 per head
Food Menu

Option One

Fresh Vegetables Crudities, Turkey Satay, Honey Glazed
Sausages,
Tempura King Prawns and Vegetables, Tomato, Cucumber and
Cheese Salad

Chucky Chips

Option Two (Vege)

Fresh Vegetables Crudities, Spanakopitta (Baked spinach and
Feta Parcels)

Vegetable Satay (Marinated Vegetables, Cranberry Sauce,
Tempura Vegetables

Tomato, Cucumber and Cheese Salad, Chucky Chips

b) Before somewhere else?
c) Not at all - just...

3) Last but def. no least: A confirmation that you will or won't be attending. Tickets will either be £19.50 or £25 as above this includes entry, after show disco, party hats, crackers, party hosts for each table and "enough fun and frolics to fill Santa's sack"

Conditions apply:
At the time of booking we will require a £5 per head, non-refundable ,deposit.

All Cancellations must be made no later than 3pm on Thursday 31 October 2002.

All outstanding monies to be paid by Saturday 1 November 2002

Ok - sorry for the long post...hope that's all clear, heard nothing but good reports from various sources since this became a suggestion (nice one Colin ) so I think it will be a cracking night out If we get enough interest I'll finalise a date and then we'll set about sorting out the money side...but to be honest, any number of people will be enough for a good night out

Me and 'im will be up for this!! The 20th and 21st are favorite but thats not to say we couldn't make another date. Good veggie menu so would be happy to eat there - saves having to wander anywhere further after a few beers!!

Cheers

Good news - keep 'em coming... (Appart from Andy You going back Essex way?)

Jen

P.S. No problem Paul! Gives me something reasonably interesting to do whilst sitting at my desk Tryed putting "on behalf on Paul (Badbads)" at the top, but for some reason it wouldn't let me - I think it's 'cos I changed my e-mail address

Oh - and yes, I'm a "Newbie" again, I seem to have broken my ID by changing my password Oh well, at least James has someone with less posts than him now

Paul, A KEBAB - please that is sooo disgusting. Is this kebab fasination just a 'man thing'?
Someone please enlighten me Oh and do you need all the larger before it to dull the smell and taste or what! Mark says you have to have the hot chilli sauce in order to kill the bacteria that 'probably' live in the meat. Oh God:Q

I think it is a man thing!...you at least need to have them from somewhere traditional like a dodgy shop in Manchester - amazing, I lived there for a year and not once did I see a cat or pigeon on the curry mile

Oh - and the scarest thing is, they all have dirty and cracked white tile floors...ooo, spooky...

@ jmb

HK - I just changed the e-mail address and then neither of the passwords I had would work Not too fussed as I'm going to have to change the e-mail again in a couple of weeks when I start my new job... Still, there only post counts doesn't really matter Oh - and if it's about beating flood control, I knew that one before you joined

Unhappy

I realy cant believe the lack of response to this thread .
some one (jen) gives up their time to try and organize an evening for the benifit of everybody and very few people can even be bothered to reply, no wonder there are so many people willing to put themselves up for it (not) Jen I take my hat off to you maybe some more will reply even if its just to say no at least you'll have some idea of numbers. Rant over climb down from soap box

Ok,

So where is Jongleurs?

Sorry, I'm not familiar with it or other posts mentioning it.

Which county? town?... Or do they have a website I can look stuff up on?

Definitely up for an Xmas do.

If it's the one I'm thinking of then it's near the Bargate in Southampton (city centre basically)

Sorry I have not replied earlier but I have just got back from holiday again.

As it was my suggestion I have better come along, a Saturday would be better for me as I have to work most Saturday mornings. Food, I dont mind either way.

Ok, southampton then. Oooh - big opportunities to get lost (I'm crap on directions) but count me in. Gotta decide if I drive (only 45mins) or drink then, mutually exclusive, of course; and hope it ends up being on a day I can make. If anyone owns/knows of a cheap B&B nearby (or is v.generous with their house space I'd consider staying over and driving.

Right...so far then we have:

Rachel and Mark
Paul
Len
Jmb
Jamie
Breezer (cool, might get to see the car! Hope you could sell the Corsa)
Colin
Poss. Simon and Laurence
Jen and Chris

With Partners? Grannies? favourite Pets? Let me know

The consensus was a Saturday not to far before Christmas, so I'll name the day as the Sat 14th unless anyone on here has any problems with that...I think we'll get a better response if we wait for final numbers until after the next meet which is the 14th. I'll e-mail Jongleurs to see if this would be a problem and prehaps make a provisional booking? I know more people we interested If not, it'll still be a fun night out

Jen

Jen,

Yeah, I forgot, you've not seen it yet. Not sold the Corsa yet... Still driving it to work quite often to cut down on cost (I reckoned it's getting on for a tenner a day more than my Corsa in petrol alone, but haven't worked it out yet). My 'temporary' 60-day insurance for it runs out beginning of next month, so I either have to get it insured again or sell it PDQ. If anyone knows someone after a small car (maroon red, L-reg '93), get in touch and I'll certainly consider any interest.

For the 'do', 6/7 or 13/14 are preferable, and of those a slight preference for the Saturdays (only cos I won't have to get back from work first).

Food - don't care. Maybe prefer eating there, but really not bothered.

There isn't an other half, so it's just me.
We've got a dog I could bring though... Or one of those wind-up fluffy vibrating Scoobs that I'm sure would be very welcome. Doesn't even need it's own place setting at the table

Ok - This is what I have so far, if this isn't what you want to do, let me know - I can always arrange something else

Steve and Lisa
Rachel and Mark
Paul
Len
Jmb and Lisa + food
Jamie
Breezer and vibrating scooby
Colin
Julie and Friend + food
Poss. Simon and Laurence
Jen and Chris

Ok, so the date is the 13th (the 14th has now been changed to a standard night), it's a Friday so hopefully that's ok for most people We'll meet at Bar Risa as Paul suggested...the price is therefore £25 per person, £35 if you wanted food as well. If this is ok if people confirm the number of tickets wanted and wether food is needed then I'll make a booking on Friday afternoon. This can be altered in numbers as long as they still have availablity, so we can add people on after the meet if they express an interest

If anyone reckons there's not enough people to make it worthwhile or wants something else then speak before Friday afternoon, or you can pay my credit card bill Still, I think the list above isn't bad

Chris will be coming along to the next meet, (I'm on a course in Birmingham) so let him know anymore information if you can't post here...

Jen
