Question

As promised a thread where you can write all your wonderful ideas and I can spend my last precious moments at the Council investigating them

So come-on guys - ideas for a "Christmas do"...

1. Pub meal and pub drinking?
2. Pub meal and onto some kind of dancing activity?
3. Hotel-type Meal and pub?
4. Hotel-type Meal and some kind of dancing activity?
5. ?? Something completely different??

As suggested, I've contacted some nice New Forest hotels and Marwell requesting info - also in a flash of inspiration (?!) I've contacted the Motor Museum as they do Christmas Parties, although I'm unsure how much these will cost but you might as well ask

So any nice pubs that I can pester? Any ideas for locations? i.e. around the normal meet area or nearer west hants to include the Dorest guys?

I await your considered input

Thanks

Jen

Hello Simon! Just about to e-mail you back!! Very exciting developments...

Pauls acutally organising a Karting event for the middle of next month at Eastleigh (for which a thread should be appearing soon if you're not jetting around the country )...so that's why I didn't suggest it re: Christmas...although it's an excellent idea if the October trip falls through - or if we all love it so much we want to do it again!

Defo. possible!

Jen

Oh and re: location - don't worry too much about driving as we can always organise a mini-bus type event...although I can't be sure it'll have a full Scoobysport decat or 18" Super Leggras...

HK - it's here and pretty good, has a bridge on the track you get to go over too.

Track layout is here.

We've traditionally done a 3 drivers / team enduro event with work.

Jen I think it would be better held in Southampton as it would be easier / cheaper to get taxis home. How about Junglers comedy club, only trouble is the food isn't that special but it is a good laugh.

Colin - looked for you the other day when getting my Leon back from service, but didn't see you - it was lunchtime though. I have a tailgate central locking motor on order, so you may see me when it's in for that...

Right! (Don't ever tell me I'm not efficent )

Jongleurs (Comedy Club) Christmas Shows:

Show prices are £19.95 for tues 10th, wed 11th, and Mon 23rd and £25 for thurs 5th, Fri 6th, Thurs 12th, Fri 13th and the whole week Mon 16th - Fri 20th....this includes entry, after show disco, party hats, crackers, party hosts for each table and "enough fun and frolics to fill Santa's sack"

Food isn't included, but can be added at £10 per head:

Option One
Fresh Vegetables Crudités, Turkey Satay, Honey Glazed Sausages, Tempura King Prawns and Vegetables, Tomato, Cucumber and Cheese Salad, Chucky Chips

Option Two (Vege)
Fresh Vegetables Crudités, Spanakopitta (Baked spinach and Feta Parcels), Vegetable Satay (Marinated Vegetables, Cranberry Sauce, Tempura Vegetables, Tomato, Cucumber and Cheese Salad, Chucky Chips

If we went with this we'd need a deposit of £5 per head on booking, and the full balance by the 1st Nov.

There's also a restriction of 35 people for groups, not sure if this will work out to be a problem - could be if the Dorset lots are interested too...

Looks like it could be a good night out

All the acts can be seen at http://www.jongleurs.com/

Right! Next suggestion?

Jen

I've done the Jongleurs night twice in Nottingham, and we used to hang around in Bar Risa (their associated bar) all the time - it's pretty good.

Jen I went to jonglers about a year ago laugh, I nearly split my sides.
whilst I recall it not being the cheapest evening out that I've ever had I did n't think that it was that bad either but the pitchers of vodka and redbull might have helped me reach that conclusion. and as far as group sizes go just book as two groups, as long as I can have the seat in the darkest corner furthest from the stage though. oh bye the way hello everybody sorry to have missed the evening cant quite remember where I was probably between here and aberdeen
