Default Front suspension mounts mot failure ?

Hi all

from my picture it appears the middle section of my front suspension top mounts are slightly popped out from the rest of the mount.
My mechanic checked the suspension recently and said everything was ok but I am not sure why it has popped through like this on both sides and if it would fail an mot?

Both front seats are the exact same looking.

Can anyone provide any insight as to why it is like that and if it is anything to worry about

What shocks are you using? Normally there is a rubber grommet which when removed reveals a "female nut socket" (not sure what it's called).

The shock look red mate as if they are standard. The guy who I bought it from said the car was upgraded with Cusco suspension many years a ago.

Does thst top mount set up not look standard?

Thanks in advance

The mount looks like this with nothing attached to it

try lifting the central item out - would appear to just be a replacement for the rubber bung/dust seal

It's possible that the central **** is the adjuster for the cusco's

If the caps just screw off then they could be there for fitting e-con2 or similar - same sort of thing to Teins EDFC

Given the internal thread and what looks to be a hexagon socket at the bottom they would appear to be at least manually adjustable

or..........

First job would be to find out what model of cusco dampers/coilovers are fitted and whether they are still manufactured/ catered for.

Current list shows 8 variants for the GC8
