Fitted this the other day and have to say the range for arming / de-arming is shocking, have to be literally standing next to the doors, out of the control unit it only has a small black antenna cable so was wondering:

Can i extend this so i can run it up high into the roof panel?

Can i earth it so the car creates a large antenna?

Can i splice it into the antenna wire?

Any info would be great, surely I'm not the only one?

Mate I've fitted a few toads in the past and have never really had a problem. They are not as good a range as Clifford but not all bad. I think you can buy a range extender for it mate. Try that and see how you get on.

 

If you have issues return it to where it was purchased
as when production was started over here there was a few rouge receivers fitted
to some AI606 units
extending the antenna is not recommended but may help

Hi,

Thinking about fitting an TOAD AI606 to an import STi.

Is this the best alarm from Toad? I know Sky Insurance recommended this particular model, but are there better ones?

If so which model?

For this one, how much fitted?

My area is North East London, Enfield (N14) if that helps.
