Advise required please,
I disconnected my battery last weekend, for and hour or so to try and re-set my ECU (my01 wrx),it started raining when I wanted to put the battery back on so I pushed the car off the drive and up the side of the house for shelter. Now then should I have got a call off tracker(system fitted was a tracker retrieve.)
If this is normal then whats the point in haveing it fitted?

From what i know about the tracker that should have triggered it, AFAIK the unit has its own backup battery should the car battery become flat.

However you have a 'Tracker Retrieve' which requires you to report the car missing. If you had a pro-active unit like 'Tracker Monitor' then they would have called you.

Obviously don't pay £60.

Just drive off 'forgetting' to disarm and wait for the call.

£60 quid versus 'bye bye car' - is it really worth it?!

Red face

If you check it every day that's £22000/year.

You might get a frequent user discount .

eh? ... you have these security devices and you dont even know the ins and outs of what you have!

The retrieve is the cheapest in the Tracker range, and works through the national radio mast network, it uses uses a unique radio frequency to home in on the stolen car. It requires manual activation by the user by telephoning Tracker's bureau in Uxbridge..... so you could push the car to London and it wouldnt go off!

The system is battery backed up, so if you car was stolen and the battery disconnected, the car can still be located.

Rich.

So why would they do that then
PS I dont really give a **** I had to have it for insurance purposes, but i pay 99 squid for subscription so Id like to think it was workin!
But to be honest if it was robbed i wouldnt want it back

Yoza,

You've got Tracker Monitor then, just need to hire a flat bed lorry to move the car 500 metres with the alarm enabled.
