Is Blackjax compatible with other Cat 1 alarms?

I read on the Clifford site that it is compatible with factory alarm systems, but is it compatible with other Cat 1 alarms? Does anyone know if there are any similar systems available?

Should be OK Daphne. Ring Max the Clifford dealer on 0113 244 1448. He'll definitely tell you what's OK and what's not.
Cheers, HB.

Thanks for the feedback - I'll ring the local Clifford dealer this morning and get it booked in.
Harry Boy - did you really drive into Leeds without having the Blackjax fitted first??! Sorry, slightly cynical having heard so much about car jacking/mugging recently...

I rang the Clifford dealer this morning, who say it should be compatible, but also spoke to Cobra dealers. Just to be awkward (!?) anyone heard anything about the Cobra anti-hijack system? It's supposed to cut off the engine gradually when the car is revved hard, instead of cutting out suddenly after a specific time.

Hi Daphne,
Not familiar with the Cobra system, but the idea with the Clifford is that it cuts the power after an appropriate interval and after a warning has been given. It only does so once the revs are below 3000 rpm, so that it doesn't cause a high speed pile up. It also flashes the brake lights before doing so, as a warning to following traffic that something is likely to happen. Clever stuff.....
