toad mp4 - any good?

when buying my car i was told it had a cat1 alarm. I took it to Extreme in Harlow who say its actually a cat2 but can upgrade it to cat1 using a toad mp4, for about 350.00
is the upgrade unit any good and should i look for a better price?
