Recently been threads about selling on Navtrak units from the original owner to a.n.other

This is in reply to queries I placed with Navtrak regarding the potential situations arising.

Not prehaps as good as I'd hoped for but this is their business & how they want to deal with it according to their business practices, warranties, T&C and liabilities/potential liabilities.

Re: 2nd Hand NavTrak units

Following our telephone conversation of this morning, to confirm the 2 scenarios;

1. If the DCU is a Free Box Model (FBM)
The unit must be deinstalled and reinstalled by an authorised NavvTrak technician. If not, the warranty is made void under our terms and conditions.

Costs:
Deinstallation: £60.00
Reinstallation: £100.00
New wiring kit: £35.00
Total: £195.00

The unit still remains the property of NavTrak.
Each customer has to subscribe for a minimum period of 12 months. If the unit is deinstalled before the end of the 12 month period, the original customer is still liable for the remainder of the subscriptions. If the new customer pays their subscription by a 'prepay', the remaining subs for the original owner will be waived by NavTrak. If the new customer decides to pay by means of Direct Debit, the remainder is still due to NavTrak.

2. If the DCU is not an FBM
The unit must be deinstalled and reinstalled by an authorised NavTrak technician. If not, the warranty is made void under our terms and conditions.

So that is the WORD...

I believe that mega_stream will shortly have a group buy price that is slightly better than the best I can provide, but it will still reflect the new unit price in there. There is a potential saving in buying s/hand but poss not as great as expected

Mega's deal in comparison to anything else over the same time period will be competitive with anything else on the market currently available - AFAIK

Bottom line is that any Tracking Device is potentially a monetry saving to you and a way of helping us rid this country (at least temporarily ) of some scroates.
