Why does a flat battery set the alarm off ?
The main car battery on my '05 Scoob went flat the other day and it set the alarm off?!
I couldnt get the thing to stop as the central locking wasnt working from the key fob to disarm then arm the car. Luckily I had some jump leads to hand and used my brothers car battery to connect to my battery and disarm the alarm and start the car to charge the battery again.
The battery seems ok now.
Why and how did the alarm go off if the battery was flat???
Cheers, M.

It's a failsafe just in case robbers cut the battery when in steal mode isn't it? If they could bypass the alarm just by cutting the battery then it's not that secure is it ...

Thats what I figured but if a car is sat for a long time - eg the owner went on holiday - the neighbours will be narked off when the alarm goes off all the time! I cant imagine the backup battery in an alarm lasts very long does it?
