Default sigma m30 alarm going off for no reason

came to my car this morning after finishing work, walked up to it disarmed the alarm got in and started the engine, started to reverse out of a parking spot and the siren started going of, the car was still running and no indicators etc or the led next to the clock where flashing, i turned the engine off and i could still arm and disarm the alarm but the siren was still going off and once id disarmed it again it started up with the siren still going off,

the security guards said it had been going off all night, then would stop for 45 mins then start again,

it also did it the night before outside my house but i thought it was someone elses, as when i looked out the window there was no lights flashing on my car,

anyone any ideas as my neighbours wont be to happy and neither will my wife, dont want to leave it with the battery disconected when its parked up

cheers

it sounds very much like the battery backup unit in the siren has gone faulty. This is usually caused by water ingress into the siren which fries the electronics.

Cheers can you just replace the battery back up, or is it a new siren and where would I get one from?

Thanks again.

you will need a new siren. It is located behind the plastic panel at the bottom of the windscreen.

You can get them from any Sigma agent or your local Subaru dealer.

cheers for that any idea where behind the dash the main box might be all I find when I search is that it's in a metal enclosure, prob best to pm if you know rather than post that openly

I found the siren no probs just cut the wires to it for now so I don't have to disconnect the batterty every night till I get a new siren

Cheers again for all the help
