Question tracker

i'm looking to buy a bug eye this weekend as i'm not enjoying my 325ci as i thought i would.
The insurance quotes i'm getting are way more than i hought they'd be though compared to the last scoob i had (97my).
The 325 i have now costs £489fc and the scoob quotes are coming in at £950 - £1400
some companies require a tracker to be fitted and i was hoping some1 could advise on this. Whats the cheapest (so i can get insured), is there any that will reduce the insurance by more? who fits them (mobile)

cheers

No cheap tracker but tracker 24 hour monitor will cost about 3-400 pound I think plus subscription each year at 100 ish

Be careful what Tracker you get (if you get one) as most insurance companies no seem to want the Monitor minimum. Mine came with a Retrieve but Tesco said it wasn't good enough.

Eventually ended up with Direct Line though - who aren't bothered about Trackers on cars worth less than 50K

Tracker do a mobile fitting service themselves (they did mine) although a local company I since found was over £50 cheaper......

I'm actually through MG/Rover insurance, they aren't bothered about trackers, I've heard that Liverpool Victoria are really competative, alot of the lads in Tyne Tees Scoobies use them and they aren't that fussy about mods either

Elephant don't ask for a tracker, as i recall.

If you do go for one do a search on here about the Trackstars as a few people have had some problems with them.

My last car had a Navtrack system on it and that was very good.

Only two companies I've found who require a tracker are Tesco (as stated) and Privilege.

Spoken with them several times, the last a few moments ago.

Apparently there a several reasons as to why they may not be able to track it. Still waiting

I think that may be the least subtle piece of product placement I've ever scene. Let me know if you sell the bits though, but I don't need the car.

I'm with elephant too, no tracker needed...heard that Liverpool Victoria are great if you are over 30...as long as they know about mods, then they don't seem to affect the premium!!!
Personally i don't want a tracker....lets face it, if my scoob gets nicked it's gonna get thrashed to hell....even if it's recovered with body intact, who knows what damage is caused to the engine that i'll have to pay myself...i'd rather have the cash for a replacement!!!

My insurance company - Highway - don't ask for Tracker, on my 95 WRX - cost me £654 fully comp. Churchill will ask for Tracker, and alarm, and proof of them too!
