I've got a bit of a dilema with my Alarm/Immobiliser. When i bought the car it had an aftermarket cat1 alarm/immobiliser already fitted. The currently fitted alarm is cat1 but i need paperwork to prove it has been properly installed and meets cat1 spec for my insurance.

I've already contacted the previous owner but he doesn't have the paperwork and wasn't the one who got the alarm fitted.

I don't want to fork out for a new alarm just for the sake of the paperwork that comes with it. Is there any way of getting my alarm 'recertified' and getting new paperwork.

I'd be happy paying for this as long as it costs less than a new alarm + installation.

Marty.

Take it to your friendly local VSIB installer, who will inspect it and recertify it for around £20.
