Hi All

My mate and I found ourselves in that Insurance renewal time again and all the firms we contacted require an insurance approved Tracker

I have had a look around my local area and managed to strike a deal with a local firm in Birmingham. They came up with the following offers

Tracker Retrive (some insurance companies not keen on this one !)
£225 each if 5 interested.
£200 each if 10 interested.

Tracker Monitor
£375 each if 5 interested.
£350 each if 10 interested.

Clifford Blackjax (not a Tracker !)
£150 each if 5 interested.
£125 each if 10 interested.

All prices are fitted and include VAT (exclude £99 yearly Tracker subscription), they are able to travel to fit these units if there enough interested in an area all dependant of the distance involved.

So who is up for this one then guys ?

The more people in the cheaper it gets for all of us. Offer is open to any car/van not just Scoobies.

So far we have myself + 1 interested anymore ???

Cheers

Neal

I'm interested and also want to know where the Tracker would be fitted.

Think we need a "Yorkshire" group buy!

Ok Guys

The company is based in Birmingham, therefore if you are local to brum then its a you visit them kind of thing. If you are further afield then get a few interested folk together and they can visit you and fit all of them at the same time.
If lots of travelling is required to fit 1 device then I am sure a supplement will be involved if they are willing to travel 150 miles to fit one device. If 5 of you want one fitting and are all local to each other then get a date together and 'IF' there is a small supplement then it can be shared by the many rather than the few.

I will have a chat on monday with the company to find out there travelling critera. Though the guy said he is willing to travel but its got to be worth it for him as he is not making lots of money out of it.

Clifford Blackjax is indeed a anti hijack alarm system.

Cheers

Neal

I have spoken to the dealer whom said there shouldnt be a travelling supplement as long as there are at least 3-4 cars to be fitted with one of the devices within the same area on the same day. Though pref in all at the same location.
Travelling to Scotland on the other hand is out the question no matter how many want them (his words not mine.) Nothing against our Northern folk but he said the distance is excessive for the price he is selling them for.

Cheers

Hi Guys

I am waiting for a reply from the fitter on the 50 quid Voucher that Tracker are giving out at the Motorshow. Should find out later today, though I think it may be through Tracker dealers themselves rather than authorised dealers. In any case this group buy is still cheaper, but If we can get a few more quid off then its off to the motor show for me .

Would like Backjax, but a little worried about the insurance implications of having it installed. Heard it doesn't meet with Thatcham approval. Any advice to the contrary welcome.

Slowboy

Best bet is to give your insurance company a bell and find out what they think. I know some insurance companies dont like it as it enables you to start the car and drive it a small distance. The reason so many people are turning to this device is the increasing amount of break ins that result in the criminal attaining a full set of keys and your car being stolen. If the Blackjax is fitted then they will only make it down the street and have to abandon the car. I am sure a Cat 1 system can be fitted in conjunction with the Blackjax.

I'm interested in both Black Jax and Tracker Monitor. I'm in London / Herts just a bit concerned about the after sales if anything goes wrong after installation. Will I have to return to them (can't see them coming down to London if there's a problem)?

Latest info

Tracker vouchers,
These are only redeamable against Tracker Direct, therefore can not be used with this group buy . Still cheaper with group buy than with the voucher .

Andy,
I have been told you shouldnt need any after service but if you do then most of the problems that can occur can be sorted out over the phone. When the Tracker is installed it is tested 5 times in different circumstances. I believe the Black jax can be overridden with a coded key that only you will have.

Deposits,
I am having a meeting with the fitter on Sunday and will finalise all the details. He has requested deposits from all thoughs interested incase people dont turn up when he has to make a visit to install the units.

If you have any questions please dont hesitate to mail me on

Or raise questions on this thread

Cheers
