Question

I think me Clifford Concept 300 alarm is playing up, possibly on its way out.

On Sunday I had just washed it, parked it in the garage and locked it as normal. When I locked it, it made the tone as if the alarm had gone off, rather than the normal 2 bleeps.

Then after about half an hour the alarm went off while it was in the garage, had probs turning it of at one point. Locked it again went back in doors....few mins later the same thing happened? again I had problems turning it off.

Does anyone have any ideas if I should be looking at forking out for a new one. Is it possible i can take it somewhere to have it checked? Not sure if I trust it might go somewhere and the thing locks me out of my car or cant start it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Your clifford has a lifetime warranty for as long as you own the car. Any clifford dealer should back this warranty if I understand it right.

Suggest you phone clifford and ask 'em what they recommend. See http://www.clifford.co.uk for a contact number

I've had two alarm units replaced under warranty. Apparently if they are fitted in a certain position they are liable to get water in the siren unit! Not good for a supposedly sealed unit!

As a quick fix, try a blast of WD40 on the thing then something like grease to protect it from water in the future.

my clifford did this once, well a fwe times, eventually as I was coverd by the AA thanks to honda cover I called em up,

It tunrned out a small green fuse under the bonnet was just slightly lose - the guy just popped in a new one for good measure and made sure it was snapped in properly. This sorted it totally.

Worth a look

I've also had problems with a corroded bonnet switch - only noticeable after high speed driving through heavy rain, or washing the car with a jetwash.

Get it replaced!
