OK,

it seems we have enough interest in another group buy of this oil.

The costs are: 4 litre container - £28, 1 litre container - £8

So far we have:

John (T-UK) - 4x4 litre
Sam - 4x4 litre
Me - 1x4 litre and 1x1 litre
Alan G - some more perhaps ?

The 4 litres come in boxes of 4, the 1 litres come in boxes of 12.

Payment would be required in advance.

If anyone else wants some, then just post up a new message with your requirements. Once we have enough "orders", we'll go ahead with the purchase.

If they come in boxes of 4 then 4x4 would be great.

I said 2x4 in the other thread, but of course I can get the dealer to use the oil I supply for routine services as well.

Question

JohnS - is there a benefit in changing to this oil for those of us who aren't trackday manics?

Or am I better off sticking with whatever AWD put in at the last service (Castrol IIRC?)?

Thanks,

Chris

Right,

we have:

Sam 4x4l
John Stevenson 4x4l
Alan G 4x4l
John (T-UK) 4x4l
Myself 1x4l and 1x1 litre.

As I'm the only person needing a litre bottle, then I might change my order.

We have enough "orders" with the above to proceed, but I'll leave it running another week or so to make sure we catch everyone.

Cheers

I'll take a 4 box of 4 litres too. Does it get delivered for that price, or do I need to visit Aberdeen !!??!!

We'll sort out a central delivery address near Edinburgh, where everyone can collect from, as Aberdeen is a bit for for some people to travel to collect the oil.

Cheers

Awwwww, go on then, include me for 4x4litres if you will please?

I can also offer a fairly central delivery/pick up location - I have an office in Stirling. Not in the next two weeks though - I won't have the plaster off my ankle until then!

Let me know please.

No problems John (Banks), apologies for missing you out.

Willie - would you be happy to act as host for the oil again ?

I'll also check to see if I can get the 1 litre containers individually, since we are buying in quantity

Cheers

Maxy,

shouldn't be a problem

John - the one litre containers are (within a few pence) £8 each.

Delivery is normally about a week or so after the order is placed, which we have pencilled in for the end of the month.

SCOSaltire - this oil is basically much better quality than the stuff they use at regular services. It means that the oil withstands the abuse of hard driving a lot better, and provides excellent levels of protection for your engine.

The standard stuff, whilst good, tends to be much less effective as time goes on, and can be marginal (depending on the brand used)in terms of quality by the time the 6 month service intervals come around.

Various tests have been done by a number of Impreza owners, who have found that the Motul gave the best results in terms of maintaining oil pressure when very hot, and seemed to maintain it's quality longer than others. Not scientific by any means, but it's exactly the same stuff they use in the Impreza WRC cars, so it got to be half decent

At this price, it's also about the same price (or may even be cheaper) than what your dealer charges you during routine servicing.

John Banks - if you urgently need some oil for your project, then I've got 5 litres you could buy off me just now. I'll get more in the next group buy

I will be down at Knockhill on the evening of the 3rd (to watchy the Lotus event and get some pax laps) if you wanted to collect ?

hallo

id like some too...

the car takes 4.5L?
so would need 4L + 1L containers?

so for 4 oil changes... would need 4 x 4L + 4 x 1L?
so would leave 0.5L for topping up between changes..?

if so, why are the people in the know ordering 'just' 4 x 4L?

No reason
Just see it as having enough for a couple of oil changes.

Can't see why I should pay the extra £4/litre for the convenience of having "enough" oil for a service when the car gets an oil change regularly.

Or is it cause i'm *tight* wi ma money........

Alan,

it's only an extra £1/litre if you buy them individually, as opposed to 4l containers

I thought people buying in 4L only, would have ordered 5x4L, which would give enough for 4 changes plus topping up.

SCOSaltire - order added to the list

John
