Hi Paul
I usually go every second saturday night and is quite good fun.
Wrap up warm though. It was near white out on Saturday night for a bit and cold
Cheers Stu

I used to go to this nearly every week and the actual racing was good (as well as the odd fight!) but i got sick of gordon mcdougall's running of the place - it got so disorganised that it ended up a joke. The 'Grand National' for the F2's at the end of the night was so rushed, so they could get finished for the 10pm curfew.
Main annoyance was the sometimes 30 minutes gap inbetween the races - no-one seemed to have any sense of urgency about them.
I was even a volunteer yellow-flag waver for a while!
Ministox provided the best entertainment. I was there for the horrific accident with Chalky White when his F2 overturned and the petrol ignited. My favourite was Graham Kelly from Ellon, F2 no. 721 - me and the ex went down to see him in the so-called 'World' finals a few times - Crewe and somewhere in the West Country - Taunton maybe?
Was up at Cowden to see him Cantona kick that lanky streak of p!sh (canny mind his name - yellow car - him and his brother used to race - came from up dundee way i think) punted Kelly up the wall after Kelly beat him on an absolutely rain-soaked night. Kelly had just got a new Higman chassis too, his car never seemed as fast after that race.
Might go up again this summer and see if anything has changed.
Ah the good ol' days eh?

I remember my Dad taking me there about 25 years ago in his MK2 Escort (to travel in!!!) Very entertaining indeed - full of the dregs of the earth though (without wanting to sound like a snob!!!)
