Anyone at Edinburgh airport last night ?
Was supposed to be flying back from Bristol last night, and good ol' EZ jet cancelled the flight because of some security alert in Edinburgh.
Was this just a convenient EZ excuse, or was there genuinely something going on that justified cancelling flights ??
I ended up getting a one way car hire and getting home at 4am !!
Wonkers !

All I could find on Scotavnet
PASSENGERS at Edinburgh airport were delayed for several hours last
night, after police were called following a security alert on a flight
from London.
British Midland’s flight BD064 from Heathrow landed safely, but the
plane failed to take off for the return journey after a threatening note
was discovered by the cabin crew.
Passengers were left waiting as the plane was cordoned off and the
baggage searched. Police were last night carrying out an investigation
into the note.
A spokesman for the airport owner, BAA, said: "A police investigation is
under way after a threatening note was discovered on board." Police said
the aircraft had been towed away from the terminal area and was being
searched.
One passenger said she had been waiting with no information for more
than three hours.
Passengers on the outbound 18:05 flight were transferred to a later service.

my girlfriend works for BMi shes an aircraft dispatcher and she was on the plane when the letter was found, the person had cut out letters from an newspaper which said " there is a bomb on board this aircraft which will go off over LHR on the BD63 outbound" it was then signed AQ, how silly could someone be, she was in suck a panic and so were her work mates and mine, the sniffer dogs came in after the aircraft was towed away to block 30 out of harms way, dogs found nothing on board nor in the baggage, buy one day it will happen as security is still not the best.

I was driving out of Balerno last night around 8pm and a Police car and Bomb Disposal Unit Van were belting along out of town. They may well have been going to the airport. And to answer your original question, yes I was at the airport last night as I was dropping a mate off. :-)
