Talking Afford SIDC event ---> post event chat, piccies etc

Hello all,

Had a REALLY great day today - many thanks to all of the organisers ( & friendly burger van dude)

Had more fun in a safer environment @ Afford than I have ever had at Knockhill

I have loads of footage including Numpty, Jools, Rob Doyle, the Skyline and a few more . I will try and burn if onto DVD at some point

Met lots of new faces today including , Johnny50, Spooks & Woosh.....

Anyone got hold of the times yet ? My best was 63.04 secs which aint bad for a 2wd........No doubt the SIDC site will have all times ?

Anyone got any piccies to post ?

Cheers

Cal

ps hello to the old burd in the Yellow vest who was in speed trap mode before the event . Gutted she wasn't there on the way back to drop the clutch and giver her some revs ! She must be a closet petrolhead !

Thumbs up

there is a stack of pics on the SE Site...

http://www.seatenthusiasts.co.uk/for...ad.php?t=26490

Possibly have to register to view???

I had a great day!! The Accord is a blast and I wanted on again and again! Only got 2 runs though cos I was a ***** and never had the ***** to register until lunch time

Looking forward to the DVD Cal - I shall harass you until I get it!! REALLY want to see the clips of my car as I was delighted that I did it and pictures don't do it justice! Want to see my 2nd run properly - 1st one was a bit tame (69s), 2nd one was better fun (66s)

Also good to put faces (& real names) to forum names

Cheers

Great day out, glad the weather held out.

Was good to meet Thomohawk, Cal, Gavin from Wallace Performance, Zeolite and Woosh (sweet P1 by the way)

Didnt take the car on track...ended up heading off back to Edinburgh.
Hope everyone had a good day.

Yeah I had a good day! After managing to lose the rest of the Dundee/Edinburgh bunch I had a solitary run over the Cairn.
First time on the Alford track and first time with the Wagon on track. Best of 62.38 with a standard UK 99 before something started getting smelly.(on the car!)
Nice to meet a few more faces.

What a day - stared in Livi at 6.00am rallying the troops, and here I am signing in to Scoobynet at 11.10 from my solitary hotel room in London

Great day out ...despite the detour through the Grampians. Zeolite, next time I'll put a tracker in yer boot before heading off

My family loved Johnny 50 waking all the old biddies in the wee villages with a pop and a bang , and the occasional flamer too Absolutely top gear that anti lag ..... I think thats one mod even the wife would approve above !!

Thought the event was very well organised...shame we couldnt stay longer but Miss Stiks ( the pink cat ) was knackered after half an hour on the bouncy castle. Plus I had to get back across the FRB to get my flight... feckin pain that was.

Nice to see a few new faces Tommohawk and Mrs T- bit diferent to the MX 5 eh ?

I'm still to chicken to take the car on a track

'til the next time

Great day out, one of those days when your rushing about from start to finish. Had to pop back into Aberdeen to get some equipment for Gavin Wallace to sort out my ECu which we got running better by the end. Managed to get two runs o the track with my best time of 61.25.

Thanks to JohnS and everyone at SIDC for organising yet another top event.

Finished the day off with the a few power runs down the Peterhead dual carraigeway and we're getting there.

Nice to meet Cal and Johnny50. Cheers for introducing yourselves, I'm too shy

Chatting to a guy at work revealed that the 205, with the fastest time of the day, has a Mi16 lump in it! Kinda explains a few things!

Dave Adams has a Mi16 engine on TBs with DTA management. so about 190 bhp? On a car that weighs 850kgs and was running on road-racer Yokies. He also lives in Keig so that is pretty local!
Nice chap too!

Some pics from the day - I have originals but they are huge if anyone wants a copy..email me !

http://img78.photobucket.com/albums/...ghland-Rep.jpg

http://img78.photobucket.com/albums/...rd/Line-up.jpg

http://img78.photobucket.com/albums/...ord/Convoy.jpg

One of the pics is the 4 Highland Scoobs that made their way down from Inverness area - having given my scoob up it was great to be in the convoy in the WR1 passenger seat ....great watching peoples reactions to the mix of scoobs that went through some of the villages

Great to meet everyone, had a spot on day through the twisties on the way down, left mid-afternoon and we had an interesting jaunt around the countryside afterwards (dont ask)

Actually have some bruises from the corners

WR1 attracted one hell of alot of attention, very interesting being a passenger and more than made up for not having my own scoob down at the event

Mention of the day is to the rather large woman in the pink jumper on Alford high street who shouted a warm welcoming B%%%rds at us as we drove past LOL

I think we need some navigation equipment however for the next run that isn't on our beaten track ! judging by the amound of getting lost that happened.

Cheers

Can I ask anyone who is posting pics of cars to edit out the reg nos. The reason is that the numbers can be used to "clone" stolen cars so that they dopn't get flagged up as stolen immediately.
