Default Forth Road Bridge - still road works?

Any locals give me an update on the FRB situation?

Are the works still ongoing?
Does it actually shut at any time or just lane restrictions?
What kind of delays to be expected at midday on a Saturday?

I'll be travelling from Edinburgh to Knockhill on Saturday 3rd July and any advice/tips would be great!

Mid day on a Sat they say up to an hour.

Bridge isn't actually closed but goes to single lane each way. If returning the same route a good trick is to nick down and rejoin via Rosyth slip road. (I think)

Locals will help better I'm sure but I haven't experienced much of a delay travelling at similar time.

BTW, what's on?

Can cars go over the Forth RAIL Bridge?

I'd take the tyres off first, obviously. James Bond style

How long should I reasonably expect the journey from Edinburgh centre to KH to take, taking the roadworks into account?

Havnt been across since the works were in place, but normally, i`d say 30-45mins MAX depending on what time you leave.

So give yourself another 25-30 mins on top to make sure about the works.

Then again...it is 2.20am and me and the Mrs are wide awake cos of jet-lag and i`m totally wrong.

I did South Queensferry to Knochill 2 Fridays ago at 17.30 in a little over 20 mins, granted I was joining pretty much at the tolls so guess I missed out any tailbacks along the A90.
