ENGINE NEEDED URGENTLY
alright lads,
the engine i had arranged to go into my car (John Banks) i have just been told wont fit. his X plate original engine is too new to fit into my 93 WRX. it would mean i would need a new inlet manifold, etc
doh!!!
so now i need to get an engine to Dunfermline today if possible, or 2moro latest.
please contact me urgently with anything you have will suit. a reliable turbo engine, with sensible miles is what im after
cash waiting
cheers

Dunno if any use but there is a guy selling a uk engine with 30k on it on ebay, currently sitting at £62.
John, what do you mean the expense of getting whole car ready is enormous? i thought you only needed the 2.5 short block and everything else fitted.

for al it's worth m8, i ended up just having the bottom end rebuilt, as it pointed more towards it being a safer bet. engine codes work out and you know how strong it will be, whereas if you get another engine, you will most likely NEVER know what all the new/secondhand engine has been through.
just a thought and good luck

JohnnyR6, if you retain standard power and torque even, then an ECU remap would be required.
If you take advantage of the torque delivery of a 2.5:
Clutch, gearbox, ECU.
If you take advantage of the possibility of fitting a larger turbo and all that goes with it to truly make use of a 2.5, then you spend thousands upon thousands getting it right.

You'd be surprised at how cheap a new short block can be from Subaru direct and you'll get the peace of mind of a 2 year warranty....that's what I did and the block itself cost circa £1600...twas the cost of fitting it and all teh gubbings that didn't help
