Crail today

Well....
Weather was rubbish, no one was making any real good times even when the track did finally dry out. The scoobs were out in force though, 6 RB5's at the last count and countless others.
The timed handling course was great fun, unfortunately my car started to misfire a bit after the first run, so only got one... with a pretty dismal time! The ony other scoob that i saw on it was a white wagon, making some decent runs at it.
My best was a 13.7, with a 2sec odd 60ft. Not very impressed with that, but it was fun, did make a terminal of 103 though which is more like it.

It was stupidly wet in the morning, the upside was that there was no queues, just drive around and off you go again. Highlight has to be a mates 60' time of over 3 seconds every excuse imaginable was given...
Brightened up in the afternoon and was quite nice. K's MR2 was absolutely balistic once it got going - which seemed to take longer than the rest of the run Shame Kevs P1 decided to eat its clutch as I was looking forward to seeing what it could do.

Did anyone see the that white MR2 without the bumper?
It was kickin' sideways halfway down the strip although it was launching slowly!
Also who seen the youngster with the two blonde (bimbo's!) in the M3 conv.......everycar he came up against he was slaughtered.....which is nice to see!

The MR2 was K, AKA Sti-Nutter, running T88 at 2 bar - 650+bhp. It was stupidly quick once it got going (126mph was the quickest I observed) and should put in some really good times once he works out how to launch the thing
Noticed the M3, it ran a mid 14 the one time I watched it, don't know why it was quite so slow.

I only ran in the morning when it was wet. On my first run i had the car sideways off the line, quite funny but not very good for times. I was dissapointed with the traders, where was all the scottish jap traders? No crd, dicksons or anyone showing what they've got for jap cars.

I was quite amused with one of the silver supra's who wasn't too interested in a race since he said that scoobs had been pissing all over him all morning.
It was also funny to see the looks on the faces of a couple of STI drivers the first time an RB5 beat them
I only saw one run from the MR2, with a terminal of 126 i think, the et was up around 14 and a half though.... still in the soaking wet.
I'm also not sure about the timing on the day though, I got 1 1.9sec 60ft, didn't mess up and still ended up with a 14s run, which i've done in the damp with about 70-90bhp less
T-Uk, saw your car but no number on the side, what happened?
Dave.

I arrived late and decided not to bother with the queues.

just looking at the results and it looks like kev was the fastest scoob on the day but did not check them all.
it would possibly help to make sense of them if people can quote roughly what power they are running to see how they tie up with the terminals.
I think kev said he was running standard headers and up-pipe at 1.4 bar on a 20g , so that I guess would be 350-370bhp at star.

My sti is totally standard apart from mid and rear exhaust, only ran in the morning, my best was 14.8 with 97mph terminal. I s'pose with my crap falkens and the wet it wasn't too bad. It was dyno'd at 270bhp.

hi all
yes we were launching very slow and as a result we only got a 1/4 of 12.3 and a terminal of 126 was the fastest i thinkcant remember we also did get the fastest rwd of the day , there were quite a few scoobs to say the least hopefully next time we will launch is a bit better, the reasson we were taking it slow was simply because the lack or room for error available at crail as apposed to edzel were we managed tow 360s without any consiquencies(sp). so hope fully we get it a bit faster the next time
Lee, for your info Jav is the pilot, and im the ecu of that pilot, you stupid twit, your defo a "keybord Gangsta"
K
p.s i have to give a big shout out to mark from the Garage who took his time out on sat and came down and helped out sort the car. he was here till 9pm and it took him 2 hours to get home. hes a fookin good sport, thats determination. so if it werent for mark we wouldnt have made it up. so a big shout out to Mark

Have to confess I wasn't entirely convinced with the times/terminals either, but after the 5 hundredth map tweek Bob finally got into the 13s with his RX (which was just as well as I had run out of things I could safely change )

I thought it was a good day, bit wet, but dried up nicely... Celica ran a best time of 13.8 on the day, still getting large wheelspin even when the track had dried out in the afternoon?!
Handling track looked fun........ Mate nearly binned his S14 200sx @ 50mph+ after misjudging a drift and spinning it past the tyres!!
Cheers,
Grant
