Jools !
Hi Jools
I'm afraid I'm not at home, I'm on a DSV just about half way between Aberdeen and Stavanger
It was snowing here a bit last night and this morning.
Mrs Numptie told me there'd been quite a bit out our way in Deeside - but then, she has been known to exagerate
We're down on weather at the moment and the sea looks quite dramatic - headed your way I think.
I've been meaning to ask you, have you ever thought of selling your Westie ?
Cheers,
N

That's sounds fun....NOT!
Bit blowie today me old sailor: wind swung around a bit but still blowing bloody hard. Seems they are getting a battering at home as well.
Mrs C on the phone today asking why Kinmuck was so windy, explained we’re in the country now girl….not in the middle of a town with all the other houses to break the wind, etc. City girl you see, never seen blin drift before! Scoob has proper winter tyres on though and **** what a thing to go in the snow. Unreal to be honest, compared to standard road tyres.
Going to keep the Yellow machine, in fact plan to get it ready this trip home. Think it needs a gearbox and I know it needs a new sump after going off over the kerbs at KH, as you do….chasing Ian in his wee smartie with that rear facing camera on you.
Won’t be home for another 10 days or so. Have fun up there.

Hey Jools, how's things. Haven't seen you and Brian for ages, I am going to put my Prodrive wheels in to get refurbished at John McInnes so the are brand new again. Then I'll just have to be careful when parking, let me know when your back and maybe we can get a few of us together for lunch.
Cheers

Great idea, both of them!
Wheels sound a great idea Marc. Let us know how you get on. Rob and I need to do the same. Will set something up for a mini meet this time home. Had planned it for the last Sunday I was home last time, but everyone had plans and I left it too late. Will come back to you soon with a wee plan…

John, you're not to blame for the new Maximo roll-out are you?
Oh, to keep with the theme - on Miller atm and seen some funky weather of late, particularly over the past weekend.

Jools,
The Mad P1 and myself would be up for a Sunday lunch I'm sure, I get home on Thursday 12th and, Mad P1 is home till Wednesday 25th Feb. Sunday 22nd would be the only day for us I guess.
I haven't seen you guys for ages, we thought you and Mrs.C might have come over to see the new house by now. Its all ship shape now. We did pop out to Kinmuck before I came off-shore by Mrs.C was out and about.

Seems to be one or two of us offshore right now....
but you boys on the platforms are having a laugh aren’t you...talking about working and all that malarkey, what’s that all about then?
Think about a Numptie on a DSV in the North Sea in this weather, now that a right laugh….poor bugger Worse than that lot on the telly eating bugs in the jungle don’t you think.
Kate; will see what we can do for the meet. I have other plans for the date mentioned, but working on it. Not being socializing out and about of late after being offshore from 17th Dec to 7th Jan. Hope the new hoose is doing OK. Mrs C had a couple of bad deals in the months leading up to Xmas, then I had to come offshore, which was not what was planned all year, but more on that another time.
Zeiolite; you on the G1 all the time or just passing through? Interested to know what’s going on with GSF; they keeping their rig working right now…?
When you said you have nothing to do lends me to think you are not core crew so to speak, unless it is stacked somewhere…

It was brilliant
On the bridge it was a case of ... sea ... sky .... sea ... sky
Looks like a steady improvement through the week though - shame
A slow moving frontal trough will linger in central and eastern parts of the Central North Sea through tonight and Wednesday before clearing to the east on Wednesday night. High pressure will then dominate conditions here from Thursday until well into the weekend.

You are right. I am just a "service provider" but the Galaxy 1 is drilling for Apache on the Forties echo. I am finished and waiting to get my tools in a basket so I can go home.

Zeolite - how are things on the I? We're in Peterhead soon (GALAXY III) and then we'll barge in a take over from the I in about 6 weeks (should be an interesting procedure)
Jools - Interested in this meet. Can non-fugly owners join in or are you all wanting to grumble on your own

Typical Jack Up (Flame suit on). We are shut down with Wells depressurised to allow the rigs departure. Thay were due to jack down last night at 21:00. Broke the jacking gear. they are furiously fixing it this morning. 12 hours delay to departure. Good job we are shutdown anyway with valve problems or this could of been a costly delay. The thing has been a bloody pest since it came back. Dripping mud and who knows what all over our nice clean wellhead module. Anyway rant mode off, I will just sit back in my nice warm control room and watch the camera as the poor guys try and sort the leg jacking gear. Only a few days left and its home time.
