Hi...

Well, its happened, after talking to TeknoPete and driving a friends import WRX for a couple of days I am getting rid of my current car and looking into possibly buying my first Scooby.

What I was wondering was, how are Killermont Motor Company in Glasgow are like for supplying used cars as they have a WRX for sale. They dont specialise in Jap Imports and so should I be wary about buying from them??

If anyone has had, or knows anyone who has had any experience of them good or bad could they let me know please.

Thanks in advance...

Cheers,
Grant

Hi Johnny...

Its you damn Scooby owners, you prey on a poor wee unsuspecting RS Owner like me and lend me your car to drive for a day or so... Knowing that you'll convert me!!

Well it will be my MY00 Mondeo (Very Good Condition if anyone is interested ) that I would use as a trade in and the RS would be getting sold in the Spring after going into Hibernation over the winter.

Must admit, you're reply wasnt the most helpful!!

Cheers,
Grant

Don't know about killermont, how about asking lots of scooby questions. See if the guy is happy to answer or gets all agro.

Anyway FYI i know someone who will be looking for an RST in April. It must be a minter and un-touched by AVA (exhaust manifold allowed ).

What spec/colour is yours... did i see pics of it a few months back... black and shiney if i remember right.

Thanks Johnny, it is a nice looking car and TBH one of the best I have seen.

Yeah, asking a few Scooby related questions would be a good idea I think... However I suppose its easy enough for him to bluff me as I'm not fully up on Scoobies?!

The spec of the car is:

- 1992 J-reg Series 2 RS Turbo

- Black

- Brand New Ford Engine 13k ago

- Fully Rebuilt Gearbox 1k ago

- Full Service History with reciepts well into the ££££'s

- Turbosystems Stage 1 Chip

- Helix Organic Clutch, with Mk5 Pedal Assembly

- Top Adjustable Spax Suspension, lowers by 30mm

- K&N Panel Filter

- Full Stainless Steel Exhaust System

- GRS EVO3 Intercooler with Slimline Kenlowe Fan (IMO Essential when you chip an RST, brought ACT's down from 85deg to around 25deg)

- Cat 1 Clifford Alarm/ with twin Immobilisers, Anti Hi-jack, Tilt Sensor and Proximity Sensor

- Collins Dump Valve (I like the sound... )

- Custom numberplates front and back with (now discontinued due to Copyright) RS Turbo Logo.

The condition of the car is extremely good throughout and gets alot of admiring looks when fully washed and waxed. There will be more things that the car has had bought for it, but at the moment I cant remember... A quick look through the folder of receipts would give me exact costs/parts that the car has had over its life.

It has got a bit of stereo with it that would be negotiable, as would the 17" Alloys. At present it is on the standard 15" Alloys on 3k old Toyo Proxes, due to not wanting the salt and road crap to corrode the bigger wheels.

One thing I will say is that I have to put up with alot of people coming up to me and asking "Here mate... Hows it a J-reg like... They didnt do a J-reg RST, is it a fake?" But when I explain how it isnt a fake they are usually fairly impressed!

Here's a few pics taken when the weather was slightly nicer!!

A couple of more 'arty' ones, bit too dark possibly!!

Not too sure how big these will come out so apologies to anyone on 56k in advance if they are HUGE!!

Cheers,
Grant

He's seen it, how much will you be wanting for it?

Not bothered about the wheels or stereo.

Why is there a '89 spec inlet manifold there?

Also the dash is '89 spec?

It is a 90 Spec car mate, through and through...

The dash is a standard RS Turbo dash, essentially the same thats in all the other Mk4 Escorts!!

I thought the 90 spec inlet manifolds had EFI written on the top of the plenum chamber? And did they now say TURBO on the crossover pipe? Might be wrong though.....

Anyways, he says he'll buy it. When you give us a price!

You've Shut Rab up, I thought he was the worlds premier RS turbo know all

Anyway, it's too expensive for him. Good luck selling it though it's probably the best RST around by the looks of things.

Johnny, sorry Johnny50 That might be possible, cause we need to meet up sometime anyway... I will try and give you a shout at lunchtime (12.30-12.45ish) and we can try to arrange something if you want.

JohnnyR6... I am still looking, could you mail me (as per profile) the full spec and what sort of price you'll be looking to get for it.

However, it looks like I will need to sell the either the Mondeo or the RS privately before I can get another car as I cant justify having the garage full with 2 of my cars, and another sitting on the drive for me!!

Cheers,
Grant

Sorry if i've wasted your time and good luck in your search in the meantime. Have you posted an ad on the rsoc yet? i'm sure you won't have any probs selling the S2 m8, i sold within a week and it wasn't as good as yours.
