'Inter Marque' Karting, Sunday 23rd. Details & Drivers.
#1
OK folks, here's the latest re the karting on Sunday, 23rd. First off, we still need more drivers! We have 20 confirmed so far, but we NEED 32! As the event is getting closer, can anyone who wants to race please drop me an e-mail [wball@indexsystems.co.uk] as well as sending off a deposit, as if we don't have enough confirmed drivers by the end of the week, we'll have to fill places with anyone we can find. Remember, this is on the outdoor circuit with the twin-engined karts!
For those that have sent deposits, can you check that your name is on the list below - if it's not, please let me know in case something has been delayed in the post. The Lotus team looks particularly 'lean'! Can't stand the pace against the TVRs when you don't have the handling advantage lads eh?

The event is booked for 15:00, so please be there early to allow time to get signed in etc. For anyone that's not been before, directions are at http://www.raceland.co.uk/Location.html.
We have also come up with what we think is a reasonable way of 'scoring' the event. Raceland will run the event as a normal 'individual' grand prix; so a practice, heats, and a final with the normal trophies for 1st, 2nd and 3rd. In terms of the inter-marque rivalry, we'll take the positions of everyone at the end of the heats [so before the final]. We will score the best placed 4 drivers from each team, unless the smallest team as more than 4 drivers in which case we'll score on that number. Each driver's 'score' will just be the position they came in, so the lowest 'score' wins the team prize. So, if 'team A' has their best 4 drivers placed 1st, 3rd, 9th and 10th, they score 23. If 'team B' has their top 4 drivers placed 2nd, 4th, 5th and 6th they score 17 - so in this example 'team B' would win even though they didn't have the winning driver.
SO, for anyone who still wants to drive, the deposit will be £20. Please make cheques payable to Raceland,

Do not send cheques directly to Raceland, and can you also drop me an email if you think your cheque might not arrive by mid-week, or of you have sent a deposit and aren't on the list above.

Seems we got a few names in the wrong 'team', so it's Subaru that's looking a bit short of drivers now
Confirmed list so far is now as follows, but we need 12 more drivers!
