WRX-STi - it is advisable to hide the reg plates in case of undesirables browsing this public site looking for identies of cars to use for illegal purposes (ie ringing or false plates for congestion charging in London) or to identify the car to a particular area. For instance, if a reg is plainly visible on a car with a full description of all the expensive mods and the installed security systems, and the bad guys know your area; then you are only making things easier for them. Small chance, especially in our areas, but it's not worth taking IMHO.

Cheers, Brian - like you said, piece of **** to fit. Taking the wheels off was most effort!
Miles - I did think about the last one, like you say, unlikely up here. I'd never really thought about the other two though. (I should have known really. I did something similar on my bike when I was even younger and even more stupid!)

I don't see the point in hiding your plate because you don't hide it when out on the road where it's visible to everyone, including the criminal type. And if they cruise round your area looking for something like that, then they are bound to see it parked at your house sooner or later.
