Had a look at the Aboyne Gliding web cam to check on weather today, and it looked great back home. Called RobD to see how it was at Alford and low and behold I could here the Tut mobile go right by him and out on to the track; was then able to listen to the wee flying machine with live commentary from Rob, could even smell the smoke; well almost and I’m sitting here offshore Denmark. Now thoroughly depressed
Heard the 22B was out on the track as well and having fun, nice one

Yes the weather was great. I had to dash off early to see about FMIC's
Keith P looked like he was really enjoying the track in the 22B, It'll be Knockhill next

Only just home Rob, and you have the photos up. Great quality shots, looks as if I am stopped when waving at you, rather than flat out down the straight.
Main thing is that Scottish_Elises and SIDC Scoobys took the awards, I just pipped Rob to FTD and received a nice cup, but he took runner up and we were both 2 secs ahead of the next.
Hottest day of the year, and an excellent turn out of cars and spectators.

nope, could not improve on it. Another 66.4 and a 66.6. Then your 67.0 with third at 68.6.
Got to Old Meldrum on the way home before I realised that I had left the contents of my boot back at Alford. However not too much of a drawback via the backroads with todays weather.

Fantastic day
I'm beginning to think that we should hold our own Alford event, and return the invitation to the likes of the Peugeot/XR/Capri clubs. Instead of show'n'shine, we could have most brake dust encrusted wheel/most chipped bonnet/baldest tyres[1]. Guess we can discuss at the next OMI meet.
[1] Interesting battle between tut and Ken555 for that one

They are Maxsport RB5's, described as a road legal tarmac rally tyre. They work well in the wet as well as the dry, and are the tyre I have used on the road and track for the past two years.
However they do come in limited sizes, the largest being 205 in 15" or 16". I buy them over the internet, but the supply has been erratic lately, and I have not been able to get any the past two months. Cost is £55-£60.
