Question

Any recommendations ?
Was thinking about just using Nobles for the sake of keeping up the full dealer history, but if there are better placed near by, i'd go there.

Where does everyone here use ?

If your car is boggo standard then I'd say Nobles would probably be ok. If modified forget it!! I actually wrote a letter explaining what the mods on my car are and what they do and they still managed to **** up IMHO. I was even asked what the little brass thing in the engine is (dawes). My uncle who is a mechanic has never seen a dawes or Impreza engine in his life yet he took one look and said, 'oh a bleed value of sorts' - Use them and make your own mind up. The bottom line is IMHO all garage suck period. I've NEVER been to a garage where I felt my car was treated as well as I treat it and I wasn't screwed over/ripped off somewhere.

Ive been using Falkland performance but really cannot be arsed trecking all the way up to Fife. I need someone more local also. Again, like Saxo boy, i'm entering the realms of many a modification and the car is getting more tempramental with evry tweak so i really need a top rate mechanic to be working on my car. Will be interested to see what people recomend.

Still got 2 years and 7 months left on me scoob warranty, So its ppp on monday, and the rest will have to wait.

Never had a problem with nobles, Infact they helped me get a uk300 spolier for my 03 after a wee bump.

Does the place down near Granton Square not still exist? Was run by ex-Lothian Sports Cars mechanics (Subaru garage a few years back for those that are too young to remember!!! - was opposite Jewel & Esk Valley College on Milton Road - now a block of new flats!!!)........

Certainly were doing import servicing for my mate with his Legacy B4 last year or the year before....

Johnny boy, What about Robin Hamilton ?? Newhaven Road, really knows what he's doing or perhaps Waddells of Colinton, at Spylaw.

Good few suggestions there. Ta lads.

At the mo, car is standard except D/V and magnex rear box, cant see Nobles stressing over that.

I was thinking Falkland, but, too far away, as is the guy i used for the Cossie, way down in East Linton, it's a pain to get back from if i leave the car their.

So, so far, if it stays standard..yeah right..it's Nobles. Although i'd still rather find somewhere else.

Not keen on smaller garages..i just dont trust anyoine with the car, i always presume sone muppet will be taking the car out for a blast whilst it's in there.

Place down at Granton Square - R & J Tyres - still there

Robin Hamilton, Gordon Boyd of Waddells, and Chris Allan of Linton Service Station (all mentioned above) - all good guys and all drive and work on their own Scoobs.

Rich
