Thumbs up

Lots of postings in here for STARR performance, based in Glenrothes. I'm sure someone could give good advice on this topic for you as I haven't used a RR b4.

I am sure I have heard of a place in Aberdeen but have got NO idea what its like...

Star Performance in Glenrothes is alright, but wouldn't want the guy to set-up my car, he can do power runs, but doesnte have a huge knowledge...

I am going to book myself a set-up session with AVA in Glasgow because I hear their work is the best, I have never heard a bad word said about them so fancy giving it a try!!

Hope this helps,

Cheers,
Grant

Wait to be flamed....

Try a search for AVA.....

Me personally, I had a good relationship with them when i had my Fords but unfortunately for them, they had a a bit of bad luck for a rolling road for Subarus.....

Alan

Exclamation

Did some1 mention AVA & no probs in the same sentence there?
It`s the most fuel I`ve used to get to a non starter of an event Probably the same situ for most of the folks who`s vehicles contributed to filling the carpark and access road. And the weather was stinkin 2 LOL

Hey we ended up avin 2 create our own entertainment "plane spotters"

All the dyno sessions I`ve arranged in the past have been held at Star Performance, as we wanted to be consistent. Over the past few years the dyno settings have been tweeked to give us as realistic a reading as possible. So i`d have no probs recommending Star`s dyno to any1.

BTW it`s getting 2 that time of year again
Any1 interested in a dyno session ? Maybe the tail end of May ?
That way it`ll give us all loadsa time 2 get ready for a change
If so lemme know an I`ll get somethin fixed up.

How many went back for their free run at AVA?

If anyone knows if it still stands, i'll get on the blower soon and arrange for mine to allow comparisons with Star Performance.

Anyone know?

Grant, save yourself the bother and stick with Star, if you want bad words said about AVA I'm sure I could get you a fairly lengthy list. Having been to both there is only one I'll be going back to (and its not the one where I'm due a free run).

There's nothing like the smug warm feeling of being proved right, is there Alan?

Yep, probably too long (I know that feeling ) it's like an album you've listened to a lot - you always know what's coming up next but for some reason you keep coming back.

BTW, hope you that problem with your ears sorted out soon

Unhappy

Is there a problem here?

If i've offended folks with my comments then i apologise, the reasoning behind them is that the topic of AVA has been well trodden and to those that made the effort to go there that day, i sympathised with them for the distances from which they travelled.
I was one of the lucky few who stayed relatively close by, but i think the issue was more to do with lack of communication from AVA and the apparent disinterest from them in alleviating the issue.

Robertio

I don't think i've ever had the opportunity to meet you in person and can only assume you were one of the unlucky participants who had travelled a not too considerable distance to be there. If my comments on this thread have annoyed you in any way, i shall retract the statements and publicly apologise forthwith.

Kind Regards

Alan

Could you be thinking of Ricky Gauld up beside Huntly? Unfortunately his RR is for 2wd vehicles only

No probs with me Alan I was at that day and I've been back at AVA since, but was less than impressed so have no incentive to go back. If other people have had good service then well done to them, I have no probs with AVA just no good experiences.

If it is about Pete e-mail request that will be regarding my RX-7 rather than this thread.

There's also Jim King in Inverurie, again only a 2wd RR IIRC.
