Question

Do any of you peeps know of a good classy hotel in or near Edinburgh? Dont mind traveling about 30 mile radius from Edinburgh, preferably the west side.

I am supposed to be taking a very gorgeous girl away for a couple of days. Need something that will sweep her off her feet

Thanks in advance

Martin

Why not try some place like the Balmoral, Caledonian or George in the city centre, ok so its expensive you'll know if shes worth it. Suppose it depends what you want to do. Watch out for the Rugby weekends in Feb & March though as it will be difficult to book and (more) expensive

I'd go with all of the above.

Take a look at http://www.thebonham.com just as pricey but a little bit more *ahem* intimate.

Highly recommend The Scotsman Hotel or The Bonham Hotel.

IMO the likes of the Caley, Balmoral and the Carlton need a bit of updating.

The Scotsman do a deal where you stay over night get to use all their facilities and she gets a treatment in the bueaty room - massage, facial etc etc.

I went to the Scotsman for my wedding aniversary.

The Scotsman also do a Sunday night cheapy which is £50 per head of which you get a £20 voucher for their resturant the rest gets you your bed and a film in their private cinema or you get a dvd from their library that you can play in your room.

My brother in law recently spent a long weekend in Edinburgh doing a similar thing. After some local recommendations, he stayed in the Bonham, and was well pleased with it. He got a suite at a discounted price.

You will certainly need a hotel to sweep her off her feet as the car will not do it will it "sexy-subaru-man" (bloody blonde-haired cheerleaders are all the same. (ie collar matches cuffs)

I hope Jo doesn't come too loudly as I need my sleep

Cradle snatcher (she is only 18

Cool

If you want a good dinner while you're up, try the witchery by the castle (secret garden if possible).
It's pretty good too IMHO.

I will, of course, need proof of the existance of these 34D's as there is not enough of her to support these "martins-new-toys" of hers

Russell (I'm not jealous - have you seen what is under angies tops? HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM LUNCH!)

My flatmate who is the marketing officer for the Kingswood Hotel (see above) said that anyone that phones and asks for him - Robin Richmond - and mentions Scoobynet will get a discount.

Food for though

I'd second or third the Bonham or the Scotsman, though the ultimate is a room at the Secret Garden - have a look on www.laterooms.com for deals. The Sheraton has an amazing rooftop spa if you're into that kind of thing, its a bit corporate inside though.
