Hmmm, may be considering a wee move up further north to be nearer
family etc and basically wondering what the Software Engineering Market is like in Aberdeen or close?
Would be looking for permanent contract and have 7 years in C, C++, UNIX, Windows, Visual Studio, real time apps, some MFC, some Java, mostly in Telecoms based applications. Ideally around 35K per year.
I'm not looking here for offers just some indication of what's about.

I'm sure there would be something, in the past (like 5 years ago) I worked as a developer for a small software company, it seemed then that there wasn't a shortage of developer jobs.
In all honesty, your best best is to call Bruce Russell at AAA for a wee chat. I'm not aware of too many (like none) Scoob driving developers here

I used to contract through GT Systems (www.gtsystems.co.uk) who deal with most of the Oil companies.
The major software companies who have bases in Aberdeen are:
Logica
Oracle
EDS
Pragma
SAIC
then you get into the smaller companies, such as:
TSSI
PISYS
etc.
