I'm trying to organise a fund raising Ceilidh on Jan 25th, but the venue I had lined up has let me down. Anybody know of any good venues in or around Edinburgh ??
It'll need :
- Room for 100+ people
- Disabled access
- Ideally no bar (as we want to run our own to raise money for our charity)
- Available till at least midnight
As you probably know, it's Burns Night so a lot of venues will be taken I'm sure, so even the Friday would be ok (24th Jan). If anyone has any ideas, please post them here or mail me.
If I can get a venue you're all invited, and there should be a pile of good raffle prizes, cheap bar and some tasty grub !
Thanks
Dave
p.s. If you do mail me, drop it to w.rayner@blueyonder.co.uk, as I cant get to my work account till Monday.

Why not go for the authentic approach?
Speak to some local farmers about using a barn for the night
There should be plenty haybails to sit on, not likely to be a bar and it shouldn't cost much to hire.
Just a thought...
Mery Xmas,

mmm to be honest unless you can find a Scout hall or a church hall of which there are lots in Edinburgh you might be better just negotiating a %tage of the wet sales with the bar owner.
If you are happy doing that then I would suggest the Edinburgh Corn Exchange or The Commplex in Leith. Both have the size you require.
