Sam,

better get those cams and new ECU fitted ,that bu66er is taking your scalp .was that really his first track day or just the first with the scoob?

the other silver scoob that you mapped with 19"'s was going well too.

Andy F cheated as usual by turning up in a wacky racer ,think he is too worried about the competition if he used the scoob, might be the fastest in the country for 1/4miles but at sensible K/hill boost it might be too close for him to risk loosing .

Don't you worry about me john i appreciate your concern .

how did i guess that andy is going to do that? he will probably never get that scoob on track. just in case the all mighty andy, the skyline, cossie and evo slayer looses when it matters

but we will be there for him john , if it is not you or me it will be alan G. and if that does not work, i will then go ahead with the 400bhp conversion

sam

Guys

You all take this too seriously

If all it takes to thrash you is a 1.1 litre disabled car on std road tyres, why would I bother bringing the Evo/Skyline/Anything that moves, slaying Scoob

what kinda car was it Andy?

there was one lotus 7 style thing that had a pipercross airfilter thingy sticking out of the bonnet... could hear it loudest out of the hairpin... and it seemed to change gear much quicker too...

Hi all, eventually limped home and threw the scoob in the garage.

Thanks T-uk for the kind offer to take the car at the end of the night, much appreciated.

Hopefully I won't need to take you up on it, the next time!!

First of all, big thanks to my *pit crew* Dougie and John H for the sterling work they did last night and apologies for me taking a paddy at the start of the night. Should have just belted me one.......

Best to put it down to first time nerves Didn't help that I didn't get to go out on the warm up in an attempt to familiarise myself with the track...... Ended up being first on the track with cold tyres and no idea of what to expect when the main session started!!

Sheesh....what a way to lose your track virginity!!!

Some crackin' machinery out there, pity I only managed a total of 8 laps before the car threw in the towel.....

At least I got to take T-uk out, I was hoping for some much needed advice on how to drive the track but alas only 2 laps were completed when the turbo gave in.

Already started work on the car, the phones been red hot trying to locate a *suitable* replacement. One things for sure, it won't be the same one again....

Good to put names to some new faces and to meet up with the regulars, you're a great crowd to hang around with and catch up with what you've all been up to.

Also, i've got to thank Sam, he's right you know, without his generosity I probably wouldn't have went on last night but as the track veterans said to me, it's addictive, so yup, in the words of Arnie < I'll be back!! >

Thoughts on the night?....well for the short duration I was on, I was impressed with the Lancer Dave Brown chucked about. That sounded a mighty fine car and quick to boot. The owner must enjoy it.

Jools, you brought a big grin to my face when you mentioned what my tyres were doing on the bends!! Maybe with a bit of practice I could drive a bit better!! Good to meet you.

Anyway, enough of my inane ramblings, what about the rest of you? What made your night??

Take care

Alan

Would have liked a chance to passenger in your car Alan

Please feedback to us on the turbo issue, offline if preferred, interested in your plans too

I think I need a brain and/or b*l**ck transplant to keep up with you bunch of nutters

Thanks for the fuel surge tips Big cans of petrol next time or a cool down trip to the pump since it is a 4 hour one I might end up filling up twice

Not to be 2 disrespectfull But Sam i think u have got some 1 now that can match if not be better what you have already done round Knockhill(not taking anything away from u though) some of my best runs have been with u,but for Alan's first time even after his paddy at the beging he wsa quick.

And another one that quite impressed me ws Scotty(are u sure that was ur first time as well mate) the only thing that car now need's is a big brake up-grade as the disk's were the colour of Rangers Football Team BLUE,BLUE well done bud.

Hope to see u all soon

I am quite privileged to be the man to beat on track. it is as you guys rate people on track by quick,as quick as sam, guicker than same ratings

I will have to raise my game I suppose roll on the next track day.

now, after i said that, 350bhp is not going to be enough, i may need to find a 500bhp conversion from somewhere

Lo peeps

Superb track day, first and not the last. Thanks to The Dougster for the support Couldny have done it without you bud. Suppose me and the car needed broke in at some point, and what a night to do it on. Had it on Kames a few weeks back but it was running on the 19's and the arches were takin a beetin.
Was on similar grounds to you Alan, totaly missed the warm up stages and found myself sitting at the lights during race time .
If it was not for Dougie coming out for a few passanger laps, and explaining the cones and brakin distances, I wouldn't have pick it up as well. Cheers mate that really helped my confidence
Done well for standard 2 pots, if I had a carpet I could have sent smoke signals to the folks back in Glasgow with the amount of smoke belching from the brakes after the first 5 laps
Car ran very well all night, thanks to Sam for the map on my Link ECU and for all the advice on what turbo best suited the Link with a top mount. Car had plenty of torque for the track, although I crapped it when I got my first taste of fuel surge at the hairpin. There was a new STI right behind me at one point when it happened.
Gonna be more prepaired next time, worst point was when the tub of wax wizard popped out from under my seat and desided to wedge itself right behind the accelerator pedal. Appologies to anyone who was behind me then, I pulled over as quickly as I could

See you all at the next one or even sooner......Donny anyone??

How much fuel did you have when you got the fuel surge Scoty - I had indicated just over HALF a tank!

HALF A TANK......were you expectin fuel surge with half a tank John?? Boldy scary mate, espesially when someones on your tail
At first I thought it was something to do with the temps on track, or maybey the link neaded some adjustment, though after speakin to Doug, he told me it was fuel surge.

Between half a tank and quarter a tank's when it started happenin.
If you want a drive in the car to see what it drives like with the VF 23 and Link, no probs mate.
Are you goin for a Link ECU to control the new turbo?

Yes I was a bit surprised that it occurred so high. Happened last track night on 1/3 tank next time probably 2/3

I am using Ecutek software for the mapping since I have a MY00.
