Angry

Could be wrong, cos I realy dont know the first thing about petrol, but filled up from this garage last night. Car didnt pull as hard as it did with a tank full from a station in Edinburgh, link showed 5 knocks within half an hour of drivin, never had a knock even when running super from garages in Glasgow.

Watch out

Scoty,
Realise its a bit of a trek, but I could recommend the
one in Lanark. I've been goin there for years and dont
think Ive ever had a dodgy tank of petrol from them.

ps Do you use Octane booster as well, and if so will u
still need to use it with Optimax?

Quote from Optimax tee-shirted Shell employee when I was buying fuel for power boats this morning:

"It's a rip-off - just expensive un-leaded"

Discuss!

And the monkey behind the counter would know all about what's in the fuel

Or maybe Shell have told him this.. i don't think so!

Just gets paid £4 an hour and told to wear his pretty T-Shirt.

Question

Can confirm that we had to take a couple of degrees back off the ignition advance at certain places on my map to make the car a bit safer.

Please don't discuss as this has been done to death... but instead have a look at last months EVO mag where they ran a Civic type R, a BMW Z8 and a jag for 1500 miles on Optimax. They photographed the pistons before and after and if the guy in the optimax t-shirt in your garage actually read the magazines he sells, he would be less confident in slating things he knows **** all about....

Photos showed huge reduction in deposits on both jag and civic but beamer was clean prior to optimax anyway. All cars shows noted improvement in in-gear accelaration times.

I've ran it for 3 weeks now in my MY99 and feels a good deal smoother (due to higher ron no doubt, but still feels better)

Cheers
Simon
