Default Mapping options local to northants

I'm looking into mapping my05 sti ppp , ATM it's running the standard prodrive sport cat and exhaust system , I'm told this will be fine for a stage 1 map ?? , only other mods it's got are a forge recirc valve and a k&n typhoon induction kit , both of which came with the car , worth keeping them on ? Any bolt on stuff I should be looking at before a map ? Hoping to get around 330-340bhp if poss

Also what are my options close to northants for mapping and what map/software should I be looking at

Any advice welcome

Thanks

Get in touch with API in Harbury they have a recommended mapper and do some lovely engine work. Finch Motorsport are nearby too, they would have a recommended person also I imagine.

Also remember a lot of mappers travel, such as JGM.

Yes keep them on. Forge recirc is a nice piece of kit, nowt wrong with your air intake there. You could try uprating the fuel pump and even look at a decat if that takes your fancy - of course not legal for road use, ahem.

If you want a lot more power than what you are aiming for, you'll probably need to uprate injectors as well as the above and go for a bigger turbo.

Would probably recommend an ECUtek system for your car, plenty enough there for a road car even with track use. Other systems come with drawbacks.

Your turbo will run out of puff with the mods you have now, so there is little point of doing anything else prior to mapping apart from maybe a service/check over. You will see 330-340 with just a remap, possibly a little more.

As above, I wish I was lucky enough to have someone as good as Paul Blamire on my doorstep
