Default boot lock help

Need some advice guys. Like a pillock I moved the switch on my bug sti boot lock to cancel and cant get boot open with the lever and im assuming my boot has been changed as the key doesnt work. My missus is quite petite and can probably squeeze through the ski hatch but can I access the switch from inside with the boot closed and slide it back again? Thanks for any advice ( I know im a div lol)

Can you not unbolt the rear seats and remove them?

Yes you (or your wife) can reach it.
I did the same not long after buying my car.

seems a lot of us have done this...

I was able to reach through with a long screwdriver in hand and flick the lever.

On a side note, my boot lock wouldn't work with the key and I thought the lock had been changed but a few squirts of lube and the key in and wriggled about for a bit and it worked

ok guys, still havent got my bloody boot open so im away out to take out the back seats while its dry outside and hoping for some advice. can i get say a long nose pair of pliers and pinch the hinge for the lock together and get it open? i can see looking in the boot at the lock mechanism and there are return springs attached to the lock hinge so im thinking i can squeeze it together and open the lock? any ideas before i go out? cheers.

You need to disconnect the bar that runs along the inside of the bootlid via the little plastic clipnext to the.lock barrel, the bar comes off the back of the barrel and straight to the boot catch. make sure you leave the bar connected to the release mechanism though. Once its unclipped just pull the bar to the left and itll open. Ive done this loads on my blob, the little catch on the mechanism is a pain in the ****.

cheers gazza! good thinking on that one. got it eventually with the method i said pinching the mechanism together and it popped up. for anyone else that this happens to just make sure the tab is pushed DOWN once you get it open. i pushed it up and closed the boot and it wouldnt open again lol.
