Torque app and carberry rom
hey everyone, recently purchased the OBD ELM327 bluetooth reader along with the torque app for android. my ecu is running the carberry rom and its a newage 53 sti.
Once the adapter and bluetooth are paired i do get the message CONNECTED TO ECU but it only allows me to read fault codes and i would like to see the realtime information in torque.
in adapter statue Vehicle manufacturer displays UNKNOWN
To make sure it all worked i tried it in me girlfriends vau***ll zaffy and typical worked a treat ...
instead of using the ELM327 would a tactrix openport 2.0 cable work ?
any help much appriecated

a tactrix openport cable 2.0, or a 1.3u or even a VAG COM lead from amazon/ebay would allow you full access to datalogging parameters from your laptop - but they won't work with the torque app on your android handset.
have you set a car profile in torque and scanned for available PIDs?

I tried several OBD2 trick bluetooth readers off ebay for around £15 and they were all faulty, in the end I searched for the cheapest there was £6 and it's worked a treat.

Just got my ELM327 today fron ebay, £7.95, and downloaded the torque obd app. Connected no problem, shows temps, boost , revs, ect.
Only had a play in garage with it tonight so I'll see how accurate it is over the weekend.

Yes you can but it works on calculations, there is some information you need to input in the settings section and set up a profile for you car.
Pic of mine with calculated boost/intake pressure/AFR/coolant temp etc, you can fully customise dashboards, when you add a dial the ones in green are supported by your ECU, others do work but by calculation of other information.

Should work on any standard ECU,mine has a map by RaceDynamix, can't say for car berry rom?
Yours say it worked in another car so the hardware & software are working must be something on your car, can you speak to how mapped it or changed the ECU.

I wanted to set something like this up on my 52 WRX.
Hefty number of mods. full car berry package, an as far as im aware. If you have a car berry map. Reading data from the ECU is a bugger to do. Unless you have a lap top on your passenger seat...
I know, I've looked an looked im afraid
if someone can prove me wrong, id be pleasantly surprised, and grateful

If you press and hold on your dashboard, add display comes up, pick type of display then scroll down to mpg. There's instant mpg and average mpg, also cost per mile if you've entered cost per gallon in your car profile.
