Default What have I bought...

So last year I bought a V3 STI Type RA, as a non runner, with the intention of having it restored back to factory spec(ish)...

Thing is I don't really know a lot about Type RA's, all I know is I love the look and that they're rally spec etc, lightweight and short gear ratio'd.

What I don't know is what is special about a Version 3 model, if anything?

Anyone else got one, or know anything about V3's in particular?

Had a VF23 turbo, 440cc injectors, better pistons that the earlier stis, most aggressive cams of the pre MY99 cars and first to have underbucket shims

Pop over to type-r-ra.co.uk, then you'll discover you have the second most desirable scoob apart from the 2 door version which is what I have.

V3 Heads are prob the best heads for classics. Good flowing heads and nice cam!
Also slight stronger than stock gear box (yet to be proven)

Cheers, would putting a set of V3 cams in them give the best of both worlds then?

Yep common issue with them aswell as newage heads, but does not seem to affect performance

That white RA is stunning! Do you notice much difference driving an RA compared to say an equally specced (minus the weight advantage) Classic STi Type R / Non-R?
