Default Am I being stupid ?

When i took my ECU out yesterday to take pics of the inside would the power loss to the ECU wiped the MAP off ?

Or should it be the same ?

Surely this would mean if you disconnected your battery for any length of time your map would be lost lol.
Did you disconnect the battery before fiddling with the ecu?

From the posters user name, I believe that its a Classic Z4 or similar with an Enduring Solutions daughter board fitted.

OP, the only way youll revert to the original values is by soldering the cut resistor back together, so dont fret.

Some of the comments on here are great. Would you lose all the data on your hard drive if you unplug your computer?

I'd have said "no".

I answer a call/in the pub/on the street or whatever and someone says "you're a genius/wizard/whatever......." and I say "no, I'm not - have you seen me trying to change a washer/paint the living room/ service the car?"

Each to their own mate.
Don't think because you don't know one particular thing that you're 'stupid'.

This is what makes a community such as this.

Someone asks about a new headlight - someone's able to provide advice.
Someone wants advice on what to look for in a scooby - someone provides advice.
Someone has a general problem - someone provides advice.

Only the resident elitists and hobgoblins would make you out to be stupid.
