Default Ebay MAF sensor

I had fault code p0171 system too lean, so I decided to replace both the O2 and maf sensors. I ordered a maf on ebay, the picture was of a Denso maf, but I have recieved one by a company called VOLZ.

It looks really cheap, im not sure if I should fit it or ask for a refund, has anybody used these MAF's and did it work?

Its this one
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SUBARU-IMP...item4d06e4a413

Suppose I should have realised its too good to be true at that price.

Cheers

Sale of goods act is on your side, misrepresentation, unless it is from outside the UK.

Unfortunately sale if goods act is not on your side if you check the listing specification it clearly states the manufacturer is voltz. Consider it a lesson learned and make sure you read the full specification.

Plug it in and see if it works - if it doesn't send it back as faulty and get a full refind. Then buy a second-hand know working one from one of the breakers on here

Turns out they might be different inside, a guy on a Forrester forum opened the same part up and said all it contains is a resistor and diode where as the original has a circuit board.

Wondering if all it does is allow the check engine light to go off without functioning as a genuine maf. The inlet temperature part is alot smaller on it aswell.

He may just claim it's a library picture.

Do the screw holes line up, if not send it back as ill fitting. Again, if it doesn't look like the OE part send it back as not OE spec which he claims. Shame they're not simple to olpen up - but I had a similar priced one from ebay once - the car ran like sh!te so it was off within no time for a full refund.

I believe in a court of law a picture is for illustration purposes only and the text of the description should be fully read and understood before committing to the sale of the goods .

"Slightly" - argueable I think.
"Slightly" damaged front end = written off?
But it is eBay. Pay cheap, pay twice.
