Default Having Windscreen replaced

Had a stone thrown up from A truck which as cracked my windscreen.Been told that it cannot be repaired,So I'm having it replaced next week by National Windscreens.

Just wanted to get some advice on what to look for when he/she turns up with the replacement.

Also stand there and watch him. When they cut out the old screen, they remove some paint with the knives and cutter they use. Just make sure they put primer on over any marks otherwise rust will be bad within few months. !!

Can't comment on National Windscreens as I've never used them, but to date I've have 4-5 windscreens done by other companies, and have always had problems.

Paint taken off the roof edge, wrong screen, one guy wouldn't accept the insurance document (which I know was fine) and another was due at 2pm, arrived at 5.20pm, looked at the small chip and decided he couldn't do it as it'd need a new screen (a different fitter fixed the chip the following week).

I was gutted bought my car brand new less than a year old a small chip turned in to a crack. My insurance company sent me to Autoglass, two attempts to get the correct screen later. It has now been fitted five years no rust or leak issues. Only fly in the ointment is was a Pilkington screen but bang on with the shading at the mirror and the window for the vin number.

I bought a new 207 sw 4 years ago, it's had 4 new screens since I've had it and they've all been fitted by Autoglass, never had a single problem with them, other than the guys that work there which I've found can be miserable *******s.... But their work is up to standard.

Never had any rust problems.

I'd just watch then do it bud, it's the tools thy use to split the sealant that can damage the paint, I watched all 4 of mine being done, and they've not taken any paint off once.
Least if you watch you can check and get them to primer over any damage.
