it probably does need the map setting up again, I remember changing from panel filter to in-wing cone and my car had trouble starting up and then running.

No offence and I stand to be corrected, but I really can't believe that changing just that would cause it to have trouble starting, unless you removed the Maf?

Did ou have the injectors tested before you fit them check the fuel pumps working other than that it won't be the intercooler and it won't be the headers. Unless your mechanic has managed to fudge something

maf was in place, it was just fortunate I had only 3-4 miles over to ZEN to get the map tweaked, it wasn't to bad on the open road but it just wouldn't idle, as at traffic lights in town.

He hasn't miss fitted the pipes under the fuel pump cover has he ??

That doesn't mean anything, if all he knows is Ford's then he's not a very good mechanic!

Since I'm not a mind reader, and I left my crystal ball in the truck at work, what year car is it?

Provided you actually have coil packs, then yes it's easy to connect them incorrectly.

Any mechanic worth his salt would put things back as they came off, it'll be a mapping issue and quickly resolved

I'm just about to do the same mods and was told it should run but off boost, but someone els told me it will start up and then cut out, I would say if he's fitted the parts well it should just need mapping.

Have you been snorting something?

If something has been swapped and not reconnected properly, then it's not a mapping issue.

Car ran > stuff swapped > car doesn't run. Mechanic issue.

Doing all that won't cause your car not too start. I fitted a new turbo, 750 cc injectors, a parallel fuel rail system and some other bits. I drove from Lincoln to Lancaster with no issues to get the map tweaked. Just drove off boost. Has the camshaft sensor plug been pulled off accidently? It is located on the right bank just behind the cambelt cover as you look at the engine.

Your super mechanic should have sorted it, seeing as he's "shot hot"!

Think the phrase you were looking for is that "he's shit!"

Try no to get upset when they turn you away for mapping, or make you pay to put your car in a state that it can actually be mapped. Non running isn't that state.

if he's a good mechanic, regardless of wether he has subaru experience, he would have fitted it back together without issue. I can change plugs, it's hardly a challenge to someone doing it for a living.
We know major changes have been made to airflow, Turbo, intercooler/ exhaust, most would have had the car mapped before leaving the site.

Is the car turning over but not firing? First check that the car is getting fuel and spark.
If it is then obviously something else is not right. I'd check the fuel pump first as Its probably the most likely cause of your problems if there is no fuel. Check pipes are on correctly and electrical connector is plugged and receiving power.

As asked before did the injectors work before they were on the car ? Are they new or 2nd hand? Could be duff injectors but its probs unlikely but you never know. I wouldnt imagine the exhaust could affect it to much. Check the small earth straps that run from the manifold to battery too. These usually corrode and dont earth correctly and can cause a non-start issue.

Yes it does turn over but just won't run I'll check the pump to see if it is working properly it should be as it was new but will check the connections and make sure everything is in order cheers for the info
