Unhappy Storm Damaged

Lost a roof tile in last weeks storm

Unfortunately it landed on the bonnet of my blue hawk

Multiple dents and cracked air scoop

Body shop think a new bonnet is best option

House insurance with legal and general have said car not covered by their policy

So looking for a bonnet preferably in blue

Does anyone know if the hawk bonnet was aluminum and is this a different

scoop for the plastic inter cooler ?

Third party liability on the house insurance? Would they get away with telling a neighbour the same, if a tile fell off YOUR roof onto HIS car?

Get back to them.

My thoughts too but phoned which legal helpline

They thought would be classed as act of God !

Did know my fencing etc was not covered but surprised car was not covered

Lowest insurance quote not always best - did ask re neighbor but again unless you had been negligent - ie knew tiles were loose the insurer is not liable

What would they say if your house was burgled at Christmas?

Act of Santa and his naughty list?!

How can an insurance company use the excuse "act of God" without proof of his existence to warrant the blame?

Is the paint damaged? And are they too severe for dent removal? Just a thought, but bear in mind dents in aluminium panels are harder to remove than in steel but can still be done.

Saying that, I cant imagine a roof tile isn't going to cause paint damage and create a dent too far gone to retrieve.

Wounded.
I had exact same happen to me couple months back to my bug!
My cousin has a body shop and said it's more work but fixable. Got a quote from dealer for new bonnet which was £800 just to supply. So imagine will be similar.
I'd go for a used bonnet for cost comparison... If you can get same colour a bonus.
JUST DONT GET IT COURIER SENT!! ( long story ).

It annoys me too. All it is is a term used to describe a natural event. So what? Why is this an excuse not to pay out?
