Default What's needed?

Hoping to purchase a jdm sti blobeye very soon and I want 400/400 what mods would be needed to achive these figures and make a very enjoyable road car to drive, what injectors, What turbo is best, front mount or top mount if needed, FPR, is it worth getting launch control anti lag etc. Want options on what's needed so I can get it done ASAP after purchasing the car. Thanks in advance.

I'd second the above.

Pretty much viewed as "The Bible" of supporting modification lists .

Honest opinion if your a number hunter then yes fmic, uprated injectors, cold air feed, fuel reg, uprated turbo, mapping etc

If you want a good road car and the number is just a bonus then you could scrap all of the above, stick to what you have and just add something like an LM400 which will see you near the figure you quote, add in an fpr and a dash of meth then you will probably be over that figure without having the extra cost of all of the above.

Top mount will see you good for circa 400 give or take on straight vpower. The above figures are based on a car with straight through exhaust and filter as a starting point.

You may want to consider changing the pump for piece of mind as well

Front mount, sc42, 800cc injectors, fpr, fuel pump, act clutch. Easy 400+bhp. I'm running this spec on my jdm sti blob. Originally mapped for meth on standard ecu. Now mafless and vpower only map still on standard ecu. Anti lag and launch control is available on standard ecu. Mafless map makes for smoother and crisper drive.

To be honest a full exhaust, remap, fuel pump you will see 360bhp and would cost you probably less then a £1000!! Anymore power then your looking at turbo change, injectors, FMIC, air filter, new clutch etc etc!! would you feel the benefits of a extra 40bhp and spending a extra £2000-3000??

Try the basic bolt ons for 360bhp and when you get bored then get the next set of mods, Dont get to hung up on bhp numbers, sometimes a nice quick spooling car with a good set of brakes and suspension is much more enjoyable then bragging to your mates down the pub that you have xxx bhp.

Have a read through this thread, quite interesting, what you can do to a JDM twin scroll!!

It's hard to argue against your logic.

is the standard sti newage turbo a twin scroll? on andys site he says this will require a 3 port boost solenoid for 330-350 and im guessing the standard ecu is capable of a map to handle this?

was going to go with a fmic myself but gonna go against it now due to lots of ppl saying its pointless unless your pushing 450+

Uk bug Sti vf35 single scroll
Jdm bug Sti vf34 single scroll
Uk blob Sti vf35 single scroll
Jdm blob Sti vf37 twinscroll
2.5 hawk Sti has a vf43 single scroll

Standard ecu is a clever bit of kit tbf and will easily manage 350hp

Calum, the top mounted sti i/c is good for 400/420 at a push, but the vf35 is the limiting factor for you tbh.

Hi there

JDM STI has come with VF37(Spec C has come with VF36)

Older JDM STI(bugeye) has come with VF30(this turbo is very similar to the VF34,just due using same exhaust housing as VF34,but is not roller bearing turbo),VF34 has been only on Spec C Type RA what I know, not sure if S202 has been equipped with VF34

If you want have 400/400 then you have lots of choices like LM400,LM420 etc,SC42 or MDX321T or H twin scroll

I would speak with John@braveheart developments braveheartracingdevelopments.com about his turbo options for yours car and I'm sure this will cost you less than for above mentioned turbo

Injectors for 400bhp I would say yes you will need at least 650cc,FPR I would add too to the list

Top mount vs FMIC really depends on more factors, but for yours target I would go with TMIC

LC and ALS,not sure if you are really need this, mostly this for show, proper ALS and you will loose brakes and mainly you can do more damage than enjoyment

Yours ECU is mappable like via EcuTek MegaROM or via Open Source, with both cases you can have two fuel maps and two boost maps etc

Hope this helps
